That means if her father were to die tomorrow the conservatorship doesn't end but goes to someone else usually another conservator established by the court. This conservatorship can go on until she's well into her 80's. It can only be turned around unless a Judge deems it so and getting out of it when you ahve assets can be a nightmare. The conservatorship can actually hurt her chances with her children. If she can't be shown to care for herself (which is how one is seen when under a conservatorship despite what may be the contrary) how can she care for her children is what a lawyer can say. I really wish people understood the shadiness that is occuring in the court systems with conservatorships (not guarianships which are vastly different). Even though his conservatorship is "permanent" it's not forever. They just use permanent so they don't have to go back t court ever 3-6 months. I think a lot of people are going to misunderstand this decision and say "o, she's stil crazy" or "she can't take care of herself", but it's a great decision on her part (she had the option to argue the continuation of her father's control) for 2 reasons. 1. being it gives her a better chance to regain custody of her children and 2. if she does suffer from a mental illness, like many speculate, she's aware that she still needs help, support and guidance, which is a very mature decision. Having someone have TOTAL control over your affairs with THIER final decision being law is not good. Trust me on this. As far as her song being successful it has nothing to do with her father being her conservator and everything to do with the label getting her the right material to record which has for the majority of her career not been much of a problem.
