October 23, 2008 New Music Video: BoA – Eat You Up

Let me start off by stating that BoA has got some dance moves on her! She is about to debut her first English album Look Who’s Talking with the lead single “Eat You Up”. She is already a big hit in Korea and Japan, now it is time for her to make it big in America. Her multilingual skills can be heard on her Korean and Japanese albums. A remix to “Eat You Up” will hit airwaves soon featuring Flo Rida. Thoughts?

  • I agree the girl can really dance. Its a cute video

  • the song is ok, but girl can dance and the video made the song ten times better..i give it an “A”

  • I’M LOVIN’ IT! SUPER CATCHY!

  • I’m liking it the more and more I hear it. It’s something new, fresh, exotic, and even though her voice isn’t all that….it just rubs out well and it made me play it more than twice. haha.

  • great!! It’s about time BoA made it here to the US…can’t wait for Crystal Kay, Hikaru Utada, Lee Hyori, Rain, and Big Bang to come here as well!!!

  • I love the fact she came out with a different kind of look… and they are not trying to pass her off as a SEXY symbol and we look pass her talent…

    Get it BoA…

  • I love my international artists. I wish they didnt make the american video tho, they’re just downplaying her fabulousness. All the best BoA

  • where is koda kumi!!!?

  • That’s the Asian version. The US Version of the video is not as good as this.. they should use this one in America, it looks alot more American than the actual US version.

  • nice vid…and loving her dancing

  • Koda Kumi? What Namie Amuro??? She’s the freaking Beyonce of Japan (great dancing AND great vocals)but she gets no love outside of Asian countries.

It’s a crying shame how impossible it is for Asians to break into the international music scene except for in other Asian countries. Performers like Namie Amuro, Koda Kumi and Lee Hyori can speak English and have been churning out great pop music for years but never get recognition internationally. I speak a bit of Japanese and have been a fan of Namie Amuro for years. And Koda Kumi, though not as great in my opinion, had a single this summer with Fergie (B Scott actually posted the video on the site) that would have been a huge hit on American radio, but was never released here.

This BoA track is hot and the chick does have moves. I hope it does well here and wakes the U.S. so they stop sleeping on Asian entertainers.

For the hell of it I’m going to post the link to the video of one of my favorite Namie Amuro pop tracks off her last album, Play.

  • I’m luvin her right now, I want to eat her up! She came through the door wrecking it. I miss videos like this:( But honestlt I don’t think she’ll do well in the US market, it’s just soooo picky!!! You know how they eat up some manufactured BS out here. I hope she makes it big, so Utada can come back out here.

  • I Love it, i remember her vaguely from a few songs back…i like it, although i wouldnt buy it….!

  • thats cool. loving the fact that your trying to broaden our musical horizons. lol. but im not sure about a flo-rida remix. Im kind of over him and his music. His time is up and kardinal offishall is about to take his place. I don’t really care for either tho.

p.s. keri hilson’s new vid has been released
