October 16, 2008 Project Runway Finale – Thoughts?
The Project Runway finale aired on Wednesday night and if you watched you know that Leanne Marshall with her waves-inspired collection beat out Kenley Collins and Korto Momolu for the win! Leanne who I oh so agree with winning will receive a spread in Elle magazine (as will the winning model, Tia Shipman), $100,000 courtesy of TRESemmé to start her own line, the chance to sell her line on Bluefly.com and a Saturn VUE hybrid. Note: Korto’s super duper African inspired collection did strike me as the most wearable and as Tim Gunn pointed out Kenley’s collection had “impeccable construction”.

I was definitely a Kenley fan early on, but than her attitude got all stank and I lost interest. I think her designs are fabulous…she definitely has talent…she just needs to calm down the stankness. I was hoping Korto would win…love her stuff too…bright colors and things a modern, fashion-forward woman would die to wear.

Leanne’s collection was fantastic. I agree that Korto’s was the most wearable, which is why I liked it so much. I can’t stand Kenley’s attitude, so that influenced how I felt about her colletion. And how are you a designer but you have no clue what other designers are doing? It’s not creativity if it’s already been done.

Korto was robbed. Leanne collection was/is repeatative. imo i thought a collection was to show different looks, as i said b4 Leanne didnt show that in her collection. i admit i liked some of her stuff during the competion but she F up on that collection. imo i dont think a person of color will ever win project runway. im so disappointed that Korto didnt win.

Korto should have won, period!!! Yeah, I liked Leannes’ petals and all, but damn!!! Oh and Kenleys attitude was stank, and hello she’s inspired by the 40’s & 50’s… she should have known better, and studied first…

What was U watching U can go google the Alexander McQueen and see that she jocked that gown…and besides her style is already out there and her attitude sucks even she said it when she found out that Tim Guinn was going to be the guest judge…
2cd I am through with Project Runway 5 years and not one black designer to win…Kara Saun was good Micheal Knight was good and Kauto was the bomb Sorry I dont understand how LeAnne won with those damn petals she used them through the hole damn shoe…a damn shame really!! I have been a faithful viewer but no more…Im really upset that the black people are always a runner up

Congrats to Korto for winning fan favorite. (Surprise … I thought Jerell would win.) LeAnne’s collection was cohesive and flawlessly constructed. I can’t believe those models do the show for free.

I THOUGHT THAT KORTO SHUDA WON! SHE WAS MUCH BETTER N SHE SHUD MUCH MORE IMPROVEMENT! LEANNE I LIKE HER….SHE DID VERY WELL THRU OUT THE SHOW BUT KORTO FINAL SHOW WAS GR8

Korto should of won hands down!!! Will there ever be a African-American winner? Or will we always and only be runner-ups? Korto is a fab designer and she will get her chance to show it regardless of losing on PJR!!!

I was dissappointed that Korto didn’t win, but Leanne’s collection was more traditionally high fashion. Korto will go on to do BIG THINGS. And big ups to her for having our home-town girl, Dani Evans, rip the runway as one of her models.

I also said Kara Sun shouldve won also,but hell she was robbed too. the fat white guy who won when Kara didnt , his collection was repeatative also. he had the same loud colors and designs on damn near all of his clothes. micheal kors said that Kara copied off of gucci, and im saying to myself, micheal u copied off of other people also, so STFU.
project runway is racist, and i dont care if heidi is fucking seal, LOL

Once my Jerell left I was rooting for Leanne. I really love her work and her line was truly beautiful.

I was hoping that Korto would win too, her collection was wearable, cute, and done is fabulous colors! I agree that it is a shame that a minority has not won one season! Plus Korto made two dresses in two day and if that aint some diva shit i dont know what it, home girl is fierce! I liked Leanne’s line but it was repetitive, and only had two different colors, and she knew the liked her petals so she stuck with it.

I wish Korto would have won I effin hearts her collection. The pretty earth tones mixed with the bright colors were on point!!! If not Korto then I defnitely was routing for Leanne but there is only so much petals I can wear..and Kenley line was just to “costumey” nothing you could wear and her attitude left a LOT to be desired!!!
