okay so i’m torn.
BC is more raw like shit man i’m torn up about this so i’m gonna rip you car to shreds and destroy some shit.
and beyonce is like more heartfelt like it just breaks you and you’re like damn shes gonna need alot of ice cream and chocolate to fill that broken heart.
so i’m undecided.

Sorry. Although I really like both versions, I think Beyonce sang the song better. It really has nothing to do with BC being unknown because I love new artists. Beyonce just sang the song with more soul and emotion in my opinion.

Beyonce’s version is pretty. BC’s has soul and emotion. Two different sounds with BC as coming back more authentically. Of course, I would much prefer to dance to Beyonce.

Umm…LooK no Body is trying to hate on Bee, or BC. the two have there own type of singing it, they ARE 2 different people, just like every one else, if you like Bee then good for you, if you like BC then also good for you. Every one has their own opinion about it so let it go, Bee & BC sing really good, and if you like either one then that’s all that matters.

I have to say Beyonce, because I think she has a nice voice. But then I have to agree BC shows good emotion while delivering her version…That’s probably cause SHE wrote it! They have two different styles of singing. It’s a toss up for me. But this isn’t the first time I’ve heard of Beyonce having song controversy…”Resentment” from her B’day Album – Jazmine Sullivan and Victoria Beckham sang it first. I don’t know…..

Honestly both.
I’ve listened to both versions many times and it’s really hard to choose >-<.
Beyonce has a better sound it’s very smooth
While BC is rough and her vocals are raw, but it works for her and I like it.
So I can’t decide, I like the monotone for B because its like she’s hallow inside which is a feeling some people get in situations like that, then BC’s voice has so much emotion that seems to be out of anger, yet sadness.
It all depends on your music taste.

*shameless Bey fan* I like both versions actually. But I think it depends on what genre you lean towards. BC is more pop/rock and Beyonce’s is more pop/soul type.

Bey’s vocals are more crisp. Not too much vibrato, mostly in her runs. BC’s vocals were raw and more punchy. Every vocalist approaches a song different …

I think they both did a great job! FYI: Tony Gab wrote this song … Bey just wound up snagging it in the end.

BC Jean’s version is WAAAAAAY better than Beyonce’s. Her emotion is raw and you can feel her pain/longing. Beyonce yells at certain points and sounds like she has done lost her mind!!!

I doubt if some of these posting even listened to BC’s version. It’s all about a matter of taste and what entices your pallet. BC’s version is a pop/rock sound and is mediocre at best. Beyonce’s is a pop/r&b sound that took me listening to it a few times before I really liked it. I believe the lyrics more coming from Beyonce’s version. Don’t jump on the bandwagon or pretend that you’re being objective when you know what your intentions were before writing your critique.

This is why i hate beyonce, she never writes her own songs but claims songrwiting credits! That really pisses me off. She is clearly a singer, not a writer, a performer but not an actress. She needs to realize and accept this.

I have listened to the bey version and it was boring, so i won’t torture myself and listen to either versions again.

The same thing happened with karina pasian, she sang official girl but they gave it to cassie. The music business is a bitch!!!

BC with no question.

Beyonce is okay on this one. Not a lot of “range” in her voice to make it believable so that is why I’m not feeling her.

But who is BC again and why is she given free demos to Beyonce and her weasel daddy over at Music World Ent?!?!?!? I guess that BC will learn soon enough that those people are cut-throat. She should ask former DC member Michelle Williams or I mean Tanika or whatever her name is now…

I agree with Brandon33. I liked BC version much better than beyonce. I like the rawness in her voice and it just suits her better. Now if Pink, fergie or Fantasia would have did this song they would have tore it up cause they put emotions in there voice to pull something like this off. BC should have kept the song for herself.

its funny how the song sounds completely different depending on who you hear sings it. BC version is more light rock/ rock pop while B’s is more soul-pop.

Like someone stated earlier, it really just depends on which type of sound/music you gravitate towards. They both do it for me in their own way.
