A day before the official radio release, Beyonce’s new single “If I Were A Boy” has now surfaced on Z100 this morning. Do you love the direction that Beyonce went on this song? Are you feeling the mix of country and pop? Am I the only one that thinks the song sounds like Joan Osborne’s “What If God Were One Of Us”?

I like it alright. It’s more emotional than anything else she’s put out, which makes it good to me. I’m sure the other single will be more upbeat since this one is slow. I don’t know how other people will respond to it, though.

And Single Ladies is upbeat but its hard to find the melody to groove to and it seems to bite Xtina’s Candyman groove.

I am so disappointed in the “If I Were A Boy” track. Like seriously I just expected it to come so much harder than that. The lyrics are good, I just wasn’t expecting it to be slow. I’m still hoping that this is some type of joke because even the pics for the video don’t match. I don’t know, I feel deceived, I feel tricked, bamboozled. I’m ’bout to two-way her ass and curse Bey out! I feel like I wanna cry, WHAT IS SHE DOING???
But her vocals are strong, this just caught me off guard, so nevertheless, I love Beyonce regardless.

I love Beyonce…but when the song started I felt like I had been dropped off a ten story building…my inner body just fell. I think it’s different and it’s really good, but with all the hype and attention it was getting I was expecting a big boom! But umm..it’s still good though and I’ll jam them no doubt…and she’s showing versatility..unlike some other artists..i wont name.

Unlike other people i’m a true fan so whatever beyonce puts out i’ll most likely love…i wanted to be surprised with whatever B was going to do so i had no expectations…and honestly when i heard if i were a boy and listened to the lyrics i almost started crying…the words were so touching and i feel like most women could relate so therefore i don’t understand why everyone is disappointed. I would say Jam both if i were a boy and single ladies cause truly to me they are going to be a worldwide smashing success!!! Keep doing your thing B this Shit is Absolutely AMAZING…you truly have grown artistically which is what we were all waiting for.

I’m guessing people don’t like these songs. I think Bey needs to step her game up, just a little, especially because of Britney Spears’ “Womanizer”. She should use these 2 songs as promo’s and choose another song.

I heard Single Ladies on the radio. It is garbage. I like Beyonce, but this song is absolute trash. I expected so much more from her. She can also keep that slow track. I really want her to go back in the lab and create some hotter material. She can afford to hold out until the Summer of 09.

One – “If I Were A Boy” Is NOT Beyonce’s song. It was recorded by another chick who sounded soooo much better on the track. I’m sorry, but Beyonce has soul, but not the kind of soul that goes with country music. It just sounds stale and lifeless. B-Scott, you should post the original version. It’s on Toya’s blog.
Two – Single ladies is trying too hard to be the next “Get Me Bodied” but it just doesn’t hit hard enough.

I really, really like Beyonce. Reality is, it doesn’t matter if I like them or not (and I kinda DON’T by the way), today. The songs will be overplayed and I will know all the words to both the week after they are out and then I will swear they are the jams. That’s just how you got it when you’re Beyonce. I hated Get Me Bodied and, guess what? I can now drop down low and touch the floor wit it, with the best of ‘em!

once again these songs are going to be a worldwide hit…and i think this album is going to be probably the biggest success for her…i say jam them both…the lyrics from if i were a boy are amazing…almost made me cry and I AM a boy…and the other single is a great catchy dance song…her album is going to do really really well despite the economy…i think this album is going to stimulate the economy in my opinion. B’s the best! Right up there next to Michael.

I don’t like “If I was a boy.” I think Beyonce is trying to change her image, but she has put to much effort and time into the types of songs her audience expects, so I don’t see this one getting much airplay. The second one is typical Beyonce. Lyrically, the boy song is stronger, but I am not a big Beyonce fan, so I don’t see myself running out to get this CD.
