October 8, 2008 Aubrey O’Day Is Out Of Danity Kane!
Love muffins, for those of you who didn’t catch Tuesday night’s episode of Making The Band 4, Diddy has kicked Aubrey O’Day out of the group after Dawn mentioned that no one in the group liked each other and didn’t trust one another. I wasn’t expecting Aundrea to send an email stating that she had thoughts about leaving the group, but I am not surprised. I can see how Aubrey was upset after she mentioned the talks about Dawn getting a solo deal. All Aubrey wanted was to have the label communicate with Danity Kane regarding the solo rumors. Diddy felt that he didn’t have to tell the rest of the group that Dawn recorded demos for his upcoming record. It can’t really be over, but word has it that Aubrey and D. Woods contracts officially ended last week. The upcoming episode is going to be a good one. Do you think Aubrey was in the wrong or was Diddy in the wrong?

I think the way Diddy went about talking to her was wrong. But I could always tell that he had an issue with her, even from the beginning. I think he was just looking for a reason for her to be kicked out. With that said I dont think its official that she is out yet, because Diddy loves his publicity.

Diddy is the boss, he didn’t need the groups permission for dawn to do tracks on new album.Although i do understand where aubrey is coming from. She does her broadway on the side, which is equivalent to dawn doing her thing on the side, its just jealous and lack of communication within the badboy entertainment.Aubrey never did it for me talent wise,I always looked at dawn, aundrea, and shannnon for the performance and singing, for entertianment d.woods and aubrey but they never really sang.

Hands down it was Aubrey in the wrong with that smartass mouth of hers. She has been cutting it close with Diddy for awhile with her damn smart remarks. No matter how people may perceive Diddy he is still the boss. Thats what happens when you let business mix with pleasure, Aubrey ass thought since she put some on Diddy she could get away with that smartass attitude. Well now she knows ….lolol I bet in the future she will learn to keep that damn mouth of hers shut!!

I mean these girls are in a label that i feel communication is a must, and because its a group, it should be brought up to them as a group and not so much of a solo, people need to realize that this is thse ladies lives this label is messing with, speacking your mind and standing up for what you think is right, isnt bad, and i think diddy was in the wrong…

First. lets all call it what we know it is. A publicity stunt. Either this is a set up for another season of MTB or he’s gonna pop the winner of his new show(something about finding a new artist) in the group. I totally get where Aubrey is coming from. And the difference from Aubrey doing broadway and Dawn doing solo stuff is that it was known Aubrey was doing broadway. Dawn’s recordings were kept in secret. And thats all Aubrey was trying to convey. AS a group just let them know. And yes she has a smart mouth sometimes but this time she kept it totally professional. But hey it makes good tv so diddy do what u want for ratings. The show is gonna be a total bore though. With the exception of D. Woods the other 3 are sooooo boring

Honestly I believe that Diddy was right. He probably just got hot headed and tired of her mouth and decided to kick her out. Aubrey has let the fame get to her head and thinks she can make it without the group. I mean she’s talented but not THAT talented to do anything solo. If she is indeed really kicked out the next production she’d be in are playboy type magazines. She wears too much make up her hair is too blonde, a boob job and he lips are injected. She has been bitten by the Hollywood bug. She’s lost sight of what put her name out there the group. I feel Aundrea was tight everyone is focused on everything but the group.

I still think they are in the group because he didn’t have her leave the room. Diddy loves drama! With that being said I give Aubrey props for speaking up BUT Diddy is the boss. He is right he doesn’t have to tell them what’s going and and if they don’t like it, it is a free country and they can step on. (LOL). Frankly, I wish he would start from scratch and find another Daneity Kane, think about it new searches and new folks to get to know would be a gold mine for Diddy. These ladies time as a group is gone as for as I can tell. I ain’t mad at you Dawn, work it girl!

It seems that the problem is that diddy does not know how to communicate with his artist. That way now its drama with everyone in the group because he is not sharing which starts jealousy. She jus wanted the rumors to be squashed and who better to squash them than Diddy himself or in this matter even Dawn ….. You know what, I think getting rid of Aubrey was a brilliant move. That girls just looks down right nasty at all times. Being that Puffy probably didn’t like her from the go, she made a lot easier for him to kick her to the curb. Really what’s the big deal about Dawn working on Puffy’s album, notice it was Puffy’s not her own material. In that respect he really doesn’t have to go to the group to be like I want Dawn working on my projects. What about all the magazines that Aubrey has been in, Dawn could have said something about that but she didn’t. She was just jealous, Dawn is the most talented member of the group and Aubrey needs to respect and understand that. One thing Puffy said that made much sense was that these girls are going to let emotions destroy a one in a life time chance. Doesn’t matter how green Puffy can be, which he is well known for, but the truth of the matter is, none is these girls with the exception of Dawn of course would ever get signed by any other label. So they should just be very grateful to get what he’s given!

I really dont think either one of them was wrong. Diddy is the boss man and he doesnt have to explain himself to nobody wether or not other people are telling the band stuff isn’t on him. Aubrey did have an attitude but when you have some one like her who doesnt always know how to play the role as the employee and knows that at the end up the day its business. then what do you expect? She said what she wanted to say given she didnt want to play the role of “its about money let me keep my MOUTH SHUT.”
But hey I think Day 26 is a better invesment anyways and diddy should focus more on them, even though they have their issues too it seems more real with them the show gets real stale when danity kane appears with out a member of day 26.
Though Im a member of the whole “DA BAND” should have never been dismantled I love me some Choppa City and Dyalon LOL

i feel diddy was in the wrong.He should have communicated with the group,he didnt have to go into detail about everything because he is the boss.but he should have atleast gave them the heads up so when they go out and the media is like oh how do you feel about the group breaking up? they would already be prepared and let them know like nah we not breaking up….this whole summer it was rumors saying he was making dawn a solo artist,and the others said they had no idea…..
Another thing im mad that when diddys around and ask them how they feel about things they always mute but when hes not they got so much shit to say.thats why i love aubrey because she speaks up for herself,she not gonna let noone or nothing ruin her career,she lets him know,what it is shes unhappy about.

Now I don’t agree with the way it was handled but I do think that for a long time starting from the MTB 3 that he had problems with Aubrey and I think with her talking over him those feelings got the best of him. Now if D. Woods left because Aubrey got fired then that’s her dumb ass mistake! I wish I would leave a group because my friend left. But either way it’s Aubrey’s fault and I’m sure that they will make it seem like Dawn’s fault but she was being real and that’s I like Dawn. Diddy asked the group for what’s going on and Dawn told the truth.

Personally I think this is Didddy at his best…making good tv and being over dramatic (i.e., I want to work for Diddy, Kim should have been gone along time ago….but its good tv….Making the Band with Da Band…breaking up the band was just a way for him to seg-way into to this ideal of developing a girl band). I do agree that Aubrey has a smart mouth at times but I believe the points she addressed were valid. I get a sense that the group was well aware of Aubrey’s solo ventures, however; I don’t think everyone was aware of Dawn’s solo appearances on Diddy’s new album. Danity Kane’s internal issues are a result of miscommunication and bad management…hmmmmmmmmmm doesn’t this sound so familiar of past Bad Boy Entertainment groups/artist (i.e., 112, Faith, Mary J. Blige, New Edition, Da Band, Dream…whateva happened to them, Total, and the list goes on…)….I’m suprised Danity Kane made it this long. What really shocked me is that Andrea and Aubrey were no longer as close as they were in the beginning. For some strange reason I believe theres a little more to the story than we know. I personally believe that Diddy has been trying to get with Aubrey since the beginning and as a result has gotten nowhere. Now he’s fed-up and ready to kick her out of the band and using these so-called internal issues/disrespect as a way to kick Aubrey out of the band…..now he wants her to come running back like Loriann did……Diddy is full of it and I can’t see why anyone would want to work for him. He doesn’t respect anyone. I’m sure they will come to some agreement and Aubrey will continue to be apart of Danity Kane or she will pursue a solo career under Band Boy and the group will look for a new member. Well people thats my two cents…anyone interested in the music business….take notes Diddy’s the many when it comes to fucking people over to get to the top.

I agree with Diddy. Aubrey always has something to say whether it is valid or not. She challenges everything. I can understand challenging to make your own material and moves within the group. But outside of the group no one owes anyone anything. If Diddy wants to use Dawn on some tracks on his own album who cares. He doesn’t owe the group an explaination of that. He is the boss. Just like any other job, would you challenge your boss on every single matter on a day to day basis? Probably not, because you want to keep your job. I’m not saying you should stand down and be quiet when there is an obvious point to be made. I just think that you should know how to pick your battles. Which is something Aubrey struggles with. I think she needs to mature a little because at the end of the day Diddy is the boss and she’s the one without a contract. He’ll continue to make money he’s been doing it for years. Aubrey’s a new face and unless she can keep the drama going to keep her name in the media. America will forget about her. Just like we do with everyone else.

I completely disagree. She did show respect. She did not yell at him or talk down to him, she merely stated her point of view and how she felt about the situation. He asked for the truth and she gave him the truth. She even gave him time to speak and asked kindly whether or not she could speak on his rebuttal. I feel if anything as a business person whether you are a manager or a coworker, if you have a problem you feel needs to be addressed, then you should be given the opportunity to address it. Perfect opportunity since they were having a meeting about the groups future. She only asked him if he could fill the group in…his response was no…FINE, its Diddy so whatever. But to call her out and kick her out was so uncalled for. Just like she said, if the group is already having problems within each other with trust and management says oh well Diddy is working on a solo project with Dawn….where does that leave the group? How would you feel in that situation. I agree that you need to be respectful, especially to your boss, but at the same time, you cant let people run all over you. You have to watch you own skin, and she did that, and she did it in a business manner. She wasnt rude, she wasnt disrespectful, she was actually professional about it and she did exactly what he asked. She told the truth. She expressed her feelings. I just feel like he is a dictator. I hate it when someone says I want the truth and then gets mad if they dont like it. You asked for it!!! I guess instead he wanted to hear something he liked. Overall I think it was uncalled for. First and foremost, COMMUNICATION is the key to everything, without communication then everything become chaotic. I believe Diddy was in the wrong. He could have handle it a lot better than he did. He could have first called a group meeting with all of the members and just bottom-lined told them I am working on a project and I am going to get Dawn to help me with this project, and I will give you the details later. That’s all that he really should have done. Another thing is, when your own team members are going to the other girls and telling them about the solo deal, that means you need to warn everyone that has something to do with that particular project to keep it under wraps, because it is only going to cause a problem within the group. Another thing, sure most people that works in a group are going to have problems, but that is where communication comes in. If he in fact seen it weeks back, he should have told MTV “turn the camera off” as I talk to the girls about some problems. But it seems it is a publicity stunt and Diddy wants the attention. So when you add more fuel to the problem, then be expected to get burn. Aubrey does run off at the lip a lot, but if you want to know something, ask. I was always told that.

I am sorry, but now I am going to have to weigh in again on something we all deal with on a daily basis. I just want to bottom-line what a true leader who has leadership is and what a boss is and let everyone be the judge of what they think Diddy is. By definition, leader is “a person who influences a group of people towards the achievement of a goal”. Here is the definition of leadership of a true leader, s the art of motivating a group of people to act towards achieving a common goal. Here is the definition of a boss: One who makes decisions or exercises authority. Here is my analogy of it all, a true leader with leadership skills leads his team to success and communicates the goals of what is expected. A boss just dictates things with no questions to be asked. So you decide – If Diddy is a leader or a boss. Look at his track record!

Danity Kane is an investment in Bad Boy’s portfolio. If your investment doesn’t perform as you see fit – or if you think it could be performing better – you streamline and refocus. You definitely don’t tolerate your investment back talking you (wtf??). If I were to put the situation in real-world terms (an owner/CEO trying to address some team member issues and getting repeatedly interrupted by someone who thinks they know better), I think the situation would have played out exactly the same.
As for the dialog about the difference between the boss and the leader, I think Diddy is both. It’s not like leaders never make decisions. The role of the Chief Executive Officer is to execute directives in the best interest of the company. He’s led them in the sense that he’s constantly been training them on how to handle themselves. In the sense that he told them to take responsibility for their realities (c’mon – you need a mom and dad figure to come settle quarrels with women YET you want respect as an adult/artist?). He was being a leader by giving them an opportunity to discuss the problems, as they had not been able to resolve them internally, and one person took it too far.
Now, for the sake of the group, maybe it’s a test? You know, kind of how parents say “I’m taking this away” to teach their kids a lesson. I agree that losing her would be losing the most interesting person in the group AND on the show.
Ultimately, it’s not my situation to judge but just enjoy the drama that makes a good show.
Off topic, I’m excited to hear that Dawn is going to be on some Diddy records (he’s right; she has a special voice) because I loved the records with Christina Aguilera and that girl from PCD (female vocalists tend to outshine him, though, because I end up FFWDing past his parts).

Wait i hear alot about Aubrey and her magazine covers… shannon and d woods have been on magazine covers too…. remember DK did a group magazine cover for some magazine I forgot, and they did another one… it was like a two magazine issue, and it was with D woods alone…. Now shannon was on the recent cover of shape… i believe last month, so I feel they have the right to branch off and do their thing…. just because they are a group doesnt mean they should do everything as a group… look at destiny’s child… they had branched off and did solo stuff while still in the group… but I always felt that D woods didnt really want to be in the group… But i really hope Aubrey is still in…she was my favorite, and atleast she being true to herself… but diddy would make a big mistake to kick her off, i believe…

Reading some of this i disagree with some of you. I think Diddy/puff or w/e his name is came off the wrong way. Yes he is the boss but all she was doing was speaking her mind and i dont think he likes her for that reason. The point that was mad earlier about the Leader and Boss Diddy cannot be both at the same time. A leader ask questions and listen to what is being said and a boss makes the decision and it is the final one. It is imperative to be both. A leader gathers information, sits back and analyze it, then makes the decisions. A boss just decides right then and there. This is what you call Business 101. Aubrey was not rude at all, he asked what their feelings were and she stated them. The others just sat there like a lump on a log. Aubrey showed leadership skills that pertain to her career as well as the other three.

diddy’s the wrong one. aubrey just wanted to know the business he’s having with dawn because since she’s part of the group,whoever’s in that group has a bussiness of what her other team mates are doing. but all of a sudden diddy comes in saying about she wants him to give her an update everytime when all she said was his business with dawn.

and i read in an article that her personality in the show is not even really her, that in reality shows you don’t have control on what personality the show portrays, its the producers, writers, editors, directors and all those people do.

actually aubreys the one thats wrong she..Diddy doesnt need to tell the group what hes doing cuz like he said he didnt want the press to find out yet. And all aubrey does is hold the group back. With that said aubrey should defnitly leave the group and so should d. woods..or give Dawn her own CD to work on by herself without a group. CASE CLOSED.

i think they were both a little wrong, but Diddy had more right…i just think he’s a hot head that does not take any kind of talk or questioning from someone that is beneath him such as an employee. i understand where Aubrey was coming from in wanting Diddy to communicate more with the group, but at the same time she needs to realize that Diddy is filthy rich and had money long before he even thought about putting this group together, and her little part in his finances will not make or break his bank. She’s taking the approach as if Dannity Kane is the only investment’s he has, and he needs them. Correction Aubrey, you need him. You and the other girls or nothing more than a buisness/investment to him, it’s the nature of the business. i do beleive that he cares for the girls to some exstinct, but at the end of the day, it’s all about the money.

Diddy was right for kicking out Aubrey. She is too smart with her mouth, plus she’s has no-talent and she’s jealous. Replace her with Charlie who should have been one of the members in girlicious. I think she’ll help the group go far.

i personally think that Dawn has the best voice out of the whole group and wuld be great as a solo artist but for now its better if she was in danity kane and i think that its stupid how you dont trust your own group members and it really doesnt matter if aubreys out of the group she was a little too hoeish anyways plus diddy culd find someone a million times better then her

We can all say she was talking back and getting slick with her boss..but one thing we all know Aubrey is an important member of that group!..aubrey is my favorite because she has talent and star quality..everyone knows her..and diddy is a diva who knows that..he aint gonna let nobody take his shine.I totally disagree with him kicking her out but she is doing well.she has a fragrance and clothing line and most of she’s real..so yal can hate but remember that even when u hating on her u still recognizing her star and its just blinding yal.

IDK.. it seems like diddy just keeps making groups GETTING EM FAMOUS ENOUGH TO SELL RECORDS AND MAKE MONEY then breaking them up like “da band” they ghetto asses was makin JUST ENOUGH MONEY from the show. because they were so ghetto. but they got famous off that shit…then he breaks em up and starts em over DANITY KANE REALLY JUST STARTED! how the hell is it over? and what sense does it make that 2 out of 5 members’ contracts were ENDED early that really would have left the other 3 members with no choice BUT to break up cuz there wuld be no group. i think diddy is wrong in a right way because HE’S MAKING MONEY OFF IT. but hes playin wit they emotions and they money at the same time… DAWN IS GOOD but aundrea has they best range to me d woods is my fave tho even tho she aint said 2 words the last 2 seasons she is mature about shit and keeps her eyes on her business..her and dawn needa make it solo…SO SHOULD AUNDREA but them blonde girls kinda never made it in my eyes… well aubrey keeps her unlady-like-nee to a minimum. I am with you Mrz_Chumpoff on the two contracts expiring. If Aubrey and D contract expired then the other three should have expired as well. They all signed the contracts at the same time. Unless Diddy did some under the table legal antics. All I can say as it was stated by Diddy himself. They should be using a better way to COMMUNICATE things. COMMUNICATION is the key to achieving goals.

I skimmed over some of the previous comments and some of us are saying it’s either diddy or aubrey who is in the wrong.
Dawn is the one in the wrong. She is the one who should have been up front with the group. She talks about lack of communication and trust, but she is just as much to blame if not more.
Dawn should have let the girls know what was going on so that they could hear it straight from her and not speculations from others around the group of what Dawn is doing.
It’s Dawn’s fault Diddy made Aubrey leave the group. If she were up front with the other ladies of DK this could have been avoided.

I think that both Diddy and Aubrey were in the wrong. I totally get where Aubrey was coming from with wanting communication about the whole issue, the group deserved that. He asked for what was going on and she told him. However, the way she presented it was wrong. There is a way to get your point across without being disrespectful. Diddy was in the wrong because he asked for the truth, got it, and then let his ego get the best of him and fired Aubrey. He should have realized the group needed communication, appologized and told Aubrey to respect him.

I think Aubrey is really disrepectful most of the time, Diddy is the freakin BO$$ and if he’s not spitting on you mother’s grave then you have the right to get testy with him. I know Diddy is a Virgo, and they can kinda be stubborn and not listen to people needs, but who gives a Hoot!!!. I can’t believe Aubrey is getting the boot but if these rumors are true I’ll never support danity kane again. Diddy can’t be serious, there can never be a replacement for Aubrey. Puff was never wrong to keep Dawns collaboration a secret but they may have a right to know.

i think that aubrey is right! Diddy is always picking on her and he doesn’t like it when people say what they need to say to him. Aubrey is the only one that speaks her mind and says what needs to be said. She didn’t tell him u need to tell me what dawn and you did she said that it would be nice if you can clear the rumors and communicate better. I believe that in order to have a good group and to clear rumors u need communication.Danity kane can’t be Danity Kane without aubrey or any of them for that matter.

From my perspective, as a leader, Diddy should be communicating with the members of the group if someone could potentially be going out solo. At the same time, Aubrey shouldn’t be running her mouth like that because this is a business and there is a fine line between a boss and the employees. I love Aubrey though; she has been my favorite since the beginning. Danity Kane just wouldn’t be a Danity Kane without Aubrey or any member of the group. Diddy better think before he actually kicks Aubrey out because he’s going to lose a lot of money. I know for a fact that I, and many others out there, are not going to support the “new” Danity Kane.

There is a fine line between confident and conceit, women love a confident man, but conceit isn’t pretty on anyone, not even Diddy. The longer this show has gone on, the more successful Diddy has become the more full of himself he is, pride is not a virtue, its one of the seven deadly sins. Too much will ruin you in the end. The group was told “they weren’t leaving the MF’n room till someone tells the truth” and that Diddy wanted “honest, real talk, don’t bull HSIT” then he flipped out when Aubrey said what the problem was. I think the rest of the group is too scared to open their mouth, and Aubrey is too strong willed not too, she speaks what the group is feeling, they benefit from it, yet never back her up, DON’T EVER BE AFRAID TO EXERCISE YOUR RIGHT TO FREE SPEECH or to stand up for yourself, and Diddy is all about getting out the vote? He was baiting her, he asked, he knew she would answer, and then he could lower the season cliff hanger. If she isn’t out she should quit and move on, like they said when she was chosen, “she’s a star, either we can sign her or someone else will” By the way, the girls don’t make Diddy out to be the bad guy, he does that for himself. Aubrey was not wrong, IMO. I highly doubt anyone is out of the band.
I do think more ladies should have spoken up to him or agreed with Aubrey/Dawn when they spoke up if they agreed so it doesn’t seem like only one lady feels the way she was explaining her feelings on the group.
My only thing is, WHAT WILL DIDDY DO NEXT, as far as M.T.B.WHATEVERTHEHELLNUMBERITISNOW….. He will have to think up something. God forbid he have no show in late ‘08-’09.

Hello. I am a solo musician. And I plan on staying that way cause this right here proves to me that groups are a nightmare. Okay so I don’t think that Diddy is taking responsibility for HIS actions. What about management? Maybe Aubrey was shedding light on some real issues and HE doesn’t want that to come to light. So PUFF, what about your stint with the law over the whole GUN incident in 1999? You are a GANGSTER dude…straight up thug…… enough said. I don’t agree with Aubrey’s stance with nudity, but if they had such a problem with her then they SHOULD HAVE ADDRESSED IT, and as I said PUFF is NO SAINT!!!! I think Puff let it go on for REALITY TV!! Yeah, Puff is a drama boy and a control freak. So who on his label has been as successful as JODECI and Mary J Blige? NO ONE!!!!! Puff uses people to get where he is today. He does not like people with strong personalities cause they conflict with him! I know because I have been there on many occasion with MEN who don’t respect women!! Now with that being said, how can he get mad over some nudity when every single girl in that group and CASSIE and whoever is always sporting some serious skin? Look at Alicia Keys. She is the true example of CLASS. Bad Boy does not know how to present women and I am just not into it. I can honestly say I would NEVER EVER sign an agreement with BAD BOY.
