October 1, 2008 Mariah Carey New Single “I Stay In Love”
Love muffins, it looks like my diva Mariah Carey is going to make a music video for her romantic ballad “I Stay In Love” in the next two weeks! The single will impact radio stations on October 21st and lords knows I hope this single will help Mimi’s album move back up on the charts! Do you think “I Stay In Love” has what it takes to make this another hit single for Mariah?

I don’t think it’s a good single choice. The song sounds nice, but the lyrics are terrible. It sounds like she’s saying “fart like a whale” when she says “front like i’m well.” Think I’m joking? Take a listen at 1:13 and 2:27.

I Really was hoping Mariah would put this out as a single every since I heard it. I think it is a great choice for a single and I can’t wait to see what the video will look like.

I hope this works out and then they kinda start over with Side Effects, Migrate, and For The Record and Thanx 4 Nothin’ and works through 2009. I doubt it, but I hope so b/c this album deserves so much more
And the line is “front like oh well” though it can sound like fart like a well or f*** like a whore.

No, I think its a bad choice – Its a good song tho but “Thanx 4 Nothin” or “Love Story” wouldve been better choices

I wish for the best. But I think people are Mariahedout. They came back with a “New” album to quickly. Most people are still grooving to “Dont Forget About Us, We Belong Together, Shake It Off, It’s Like That.”

Simple put; No. This won’t help. The only songs left on the CD that “may” help are ‘O.O.C’ and ‘Migrate’. ‘For the Record’ too maybe.

Got-damn. Why would she choose the most mediocre ballad besides Bye Bye as the next single? Thankx 4 Nothing or For The Record are superb E=MC2 ballads. And Migrate would be pure fire………………..?

I think this is the best choice. But at the same time I doubt it will get tons of airplay because of her poor single choices. I hope it does well for her because this is one of the only songs on the album that showcases her voice well besides I Wish You Well. If the video is hot and she does some awesome performances, then it might have a chance.

I definitely think that “Migrate” would be the perfect next single to being this album back from the ashes. Why? 1. It has T-Pain 2. Its a perfect end of summer track. And lastly 3. It will remind people of “It’s Like That” and bring her back to the clubhouse. “I Stay In Love”, while better than some of the other singles she’s released thus far, is not resurrection material.

Its all about marketing if Mariah really cares if she has a hit, then get out there and work that single. I Stay In Love is a really good song people like her ballads more anyway, although I would to see Lovestory as a single because of the hip hop sounding R&B beat

Yea people do like Mimi for her ballads but I think Love Story would have been the best choice because it would appeal to both the young and older markers, its a universal song.
If she released LS and had an amazing video, a few live acoustic performances it would be a great song to revive the album.
E=MC2 is undoubtably one of the best albums of the year, it deserved to go multiplatinum, but the best singles were not selected ie touch my body. Side effects should have been the first single, with a killer video and some choreography it would have shown a different side to Mimi. Then she should have gone with Love story and then maybe migrate.

^ I really don’t think it has anything to do with the single selection. With us being in the downloading era and the economy being as shitty as it is, for an artist to go multi-platinum around this time is really rare and unheard of..I guess people are now seeing that album sales and billboard charts arent really as accurate as they once were when determining the quality of an album. All these big name artists that use to sell BIG TIME (e.g., Jay-z, Beyonce, Janet Jackson..etc)can’t pull the numbers that they once did..people just arent buying albums anymore..and can you blame them?!

For Mariah fans almost every song is a good song. I Stay In Love is a good song. But does it have what it takes to compete with currently top-charting singles like Katy Perry’s Hot N Cold, Pink’s So What or Rihanna’s Disturbia? Of course not. I think Migrate would be much much better choice for a single. But that’s her choice.

Mariah is my favorite. Has been since 1990. Consequently, most anything she does I’d support and / or listen to. However, she has made some bad choices with choosing the singles for this album! I don’t hate any of the songs, but “Bye Bye” and “I’ll Be Lovin’ U Long Time” are close to the least impressive on the album. While by releasing such songs she does demonstrate variety and an ability to take risks, she also reduces the likelihood of future singles reaching #1 (or even the top 20). The video for “Bye Bye” was lame. You’re singing about the death of your father and you’re in a bathing suit. Just doesn’t make sense. Unless, of course, her father gave her the bathing suit, lol.
Had she released singles in sort of order like Migrate, For The Record, Side Effects, I Stay In Love, Touch My Body, and Thanx 4 Nothin’ I seriously think she coulda had at least 4 #1s from this album.
With “I Stay In Love” as a (fourth) single following “Bye Bye” & “IBLULT”, I think people are less than impressed with her singles. It may be difficult to win them back. Hopefully she releases a few more after “ISIL”. Mariah breaks records so I think it’s possible for her to overcome the latest negative chart history!

I’d think that with songs like “Outside”, “There’s Got To Be A Way”, “Hero”, and “I Wish You Well”, Mariah – and true fans of Mariah – would accept other opinions and differences without cutting them up. …Also think it’d be a great idea to have another live album. Not necessarily Unplugged, but. It’d be a better idea than doing ANOTHER compilation record. Following suit of Mimi, and Rihanna’s Reloaded, if she did a re-release of E=MC^2 with maybe Heat (a bonus track on the Japanese version of E=MC^2) and a couple other new songs, it’d also revive the album. I think Heat would do really well, again with For The Record, Migrate, etc. Again, only my opinion.

definitely wouldve had at least 2-3 number ones and sales would go through the roof.
