September 24, 2008 New Movie Review: The Women

On Monday, I made my way to the movie theater to see The Women featuring an all star cast: Meg Ryan, Annette Bening, Eva Mendes, Debra Messing, Jada Pinkett-Smith really did it for me in this comedy. Even Bette Midler and Lynn Whitfield made a cameo appearance. Loves it! To summarize the movie, Meg’s character finds out that her husband of 11 years is having an affair with another woman who is played by Eva. Jada was super duper funny. If you didn’t know, she plays a lesbian in the film. I hope she continues to do more comedies. So let the bitterness, backstabbing, and never ending drama begin! In a way, it does remind me of the girls from Sex And The City, but you can see the differences. Also, do you notice that there are no men in the movie?

  • Ha Ha, yeah I noticed it B. Meg Ryan’s character broke up with her husband, and reconciled with him on the phone. I hadn’t see the original, so I had no idea no men would be in this movie. This movie was actually a huge disappointment, and the characters felt so underdeveloped. Hated it, but loved the Sex & The City movie!

  • I love Jada Pinkett-Smith. She is really beautiful. I can’t wait to see the movie, thanks for the review.

  • men were in the original.
I think the No men in ” TheWomen” was a gimic.
I love the original. I want to see the remake just to see how Jungle red looks…. is that in this version?
