Lately, rumors have been circulating that Dawn Richard received a solo deal from Diddy. Of course Danity Kane and Diddy squashed those rumors. However, this has me thinking that Dawn will indeed release a solo album because not only is Danity Kane scheduled to perform at Robert and Q’s birthday bash, Dawn Richard herself is also scheduled to perform. Maybe she’ll do a sexy song for Q or maybe new material from her album. Thoughts?

If any body should go solo its Dawn. She has the ability to do so, hell girl got a whole album b4 Danity Kane, which is FIRE. HOWEVER I would like to see the girls collectively take a more urban approach to their music just one time

all the girls are actually good enough to go solo… well minus shannon maybe!!!… aubrey and i have a love/hate relationship… the girl has pipes though!!!… she’s really good!!! andrea is oh soooooo adorable… great vocals as well!!! d. woods… hmmmmmm that’s another iffy…. so maybe 3 out of 5 can rock a solo career!!! i didn’t know dawn had an album out before dk… hook a sista up with the info… lol… i would looooove to hear it

Dawn i don’t think can make it solo. She tried before and had a much better label than bad boy. She was signed with geffen and didnt make it. geffen has many huge artists under their label. i think aubrey and aundrea would be the only two who can have successful solo careers. aundrea is unique and there aren’t many artists out there like her, unlike dawn. Aubey is a star and has an amazing voice. No one really gets to hear her in dk but she could be successful if she went solo. She attracts attention and thats something you have to do to become a star. remember christina aguilera’s dirty? people thought she was a whore, but she got more attention and is much bigger today and is seen as classy. D woods would have a shot as a solo artist just because the tone of her voice is new and refreshing to hear. Shannon is an amazing dancer, but not singer. Dawn is decent but doesnt have anything special. I don’t think dawn can make it. But aubrey and aundrea can!! the first making the band season girls are the best of the group

First to DK (and Day 26) I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE your music! Second to those of you who wanna hate on Dawn I’m sure u r tone deaf and probably can’t sing yourself, cause that girl is bad!!!!!!!!!!!! I would hate for her to leave DK but at the same time I know I would enjoy a solo project from her. She definately is the favorite when it comes to DK!

Um.. she has the deepest and richest voice out of all the girls. that’s one thing. Whenever they sing you DEFINITELY know when it’s either Dawn or Andrea.
Also for those of you hating on Shannon, have you not herd the girl sing this year? I think too many of you are hating on her form when the group first formed and she was the weak link. The girl can BLOW! And I mean even Diddy himself admitted how much she has risen above it all. Plus, I’m sorry, she IS the best dancer of the group.

Shannon most certainly is NOT one of the best dancers…besides you need hips to do most of the dances that they do and she doesnt have any hips.
Dawn is, by far, the most talented. If you can write your own music and perform it then, thats something worth paying attention to. The other girls cannot do that.
Also, Geffen Records didn’t believe in her and clearly Diddy does. All she needed was the right platform and Diddy has provided that along with a paved way to some sort of stardom…Dawn has my vote. So does the other girls but Dawn has my vote above all.

dawn is by far the best member of dk! her stage presence along is unbelievable and besides shannon, she’s the most humble one of the group! i think that they might do what pcd did and have dawn do a solo project and then dk will come out with another album! it didn’t work for nicole from pcd, but it might work for dawn!!!

Shannon was a dancer for the Portland Trailblazers as well as a dance instructor before being in Danity Kane. Only her and Dawn(who was a dancer for the New Orleans Hornets) have that experience, so please don’t say that she can’t dance because of a lack of hips.
What this post doesn’t tell you is that they performed together 4 days later for the Declare Yourself Gala (They were the Headliners).

i think d woods will do well, because she can sing better. and the songs they have, dawn didn’t really write. she can’t even hit high notes, but others can. i admitt they are all good, but as a whole because their voices blend nicely. however, dawn is not the only one who wrote songs, other did, but they only mentioned her.

1. Shannon’s the best dancer in the group, She’s got vocals like craazy. (Most of you probably can’t tell but she’s the one that does most of the melodies in the choruses of the songs- the ones people can sing along with)
2. Dawn will be an amazing solo artists, Her vocal range is the same as aubrey and aundrea (meaning she CAN reach high notes) but her techniques and control gives her a better chance of making great music alone. Her crisp and cool voice sets her apart from the rest.
3. Hips does not have anything to do with dancing, they’re merely just a spice.
4. Shannon was never a laker girl.
5. Dawn’s doing promotional meet&greets (ALONE) in the bay area soo… I think she is doing a solo career. IE. She’s gonna be at the Tanforan Mall tomorrow in Daly City, CA (neighboring SF)

Dawn will never make it as a solo artist. First of all, she’s boring, she’s not cute, her voice is average at best, and did I mention she’s not cute???! I love DK, but NONE of them would work as solo artists, with the exception of Aundrea. I can see her having a cute, successful, pop&B career. I also see Aubrey having some sort of successful slutty career…Not hating, just stating the truth.

Upon reviewing their latest album “Welcome to the Dollhouse” you will notice that Dawn Richards not only wrote or co-wrote more than half the songs, she also was big into the production with the album, and she actually logged more time in the studio than any of the other girls did. She also has been offered multiple deals through Jive, Bad Boy, and Interscope upon the finale of MAKING THE BAND Sesion 5. The question of her making it solo, should not even be asked, because she has been one of the front runners in Danity Kane since the creation of the group. Diddy also stated that “She has something special, something that is hard to put your finger on, but definantly something that sets her apart from the rest!” I believe that what sets her apart is her charisma, and her drive to be the best. She has shown to the world, that she is not just one of the girls from DK, but she is DAWN RICHARDS, and I believe that she could easily be a star and a front runner in the music industry, as a solo artist!!
