September 16, 2008 TRL Canceled!
Yes love muffins it is true, TRL has been canceled, MTV confirmed on Monday. Carson Daly started the countdown show ten years ago in 1998 and now it has run it’s course and will be no more. Sorry to say, but it seems that MTV has taken off the last little bit of music that they had left on the Music Television channel. The finale will be on a Saturday in November and will be two hours long. So sorry to see it go, but it just proves all things must come to an end. On the bright side, you can still tune in to BET’s 106 and Park. Thoughts?

man. I watched TRL when Carson daly was on it. 1999-2003 (basically my high school years) this was THE SHOW (besides mtv’s undressed)!& Carson Daly used to be alot of people’s crushes…including mine. MAN, this is sad.
As for 106th & Park? Pssh….I haven’t watched that since AJ & Free left.The only thing I watch on BET is if they show Queens of Comedy or some other movie I like, or college hill.
Its sad to see Mtv, vh1 and BET being taken over by reality shows , and the IRONIC thing is , REALITY is outside your door!Tv can’t really show us reality, just scripted reality.

THNK GOD-TRL suks, showin 15secs of a a video-I only wtch it 4 perfomances(whch is rare) FnMTV is a WAAAAY BETTR show, real artists & LIVE MUSIC, THTS wat MTV should b about-CANCEL THE HILLS NEXT PLEASE & LETS GET MORE MUSIC ON MUSIC TELEVISION-HELLO!!!

I used to watch TRL everyday during my freshman year of college in 1998. I was going through my NSYNC phase back then. Forgive because we all have a past lol.
I don’t when the last time I watched a music video on MTV. Seriously… YouTube has replaced MTV,VH1 and BET. (I am too damn old to watch 106 and Park.) When I was growing up I used to watch MTV ALL DAY! I think they have the devil picking their programming schedule.

I used to love trl, but the past few years it’s lost a lot of it’s steam…For one it rarely shows more than a few seconds of a video…It pretty much started turning for the worst when Carson Daily left.It’s time for it to come to an end.

I’m glad it’s leaving. I hated that show. If they showed more than a few seconds of a video, it was interrupted by screaming girls in the crowd.

although i dont lke 106like that anymore it is still better than trl because trl doesnt even show the damn videos they always find a way to skip over the vids and just tell us what the 4 5 and 6 video was. thats not cool whats the point of voting for a video u dont get to see. USELESS!!!

106 and park has gone down too. I can’t stand the new hosts they have on there. I want AJ and Free back.
