August 25, 2008 Remembering Aaliyah!

Love muffins, let us take this time to remember the talent that was taken from us way too soon just seven years ago. At just the tender age of 14, she came onto the scene with her hit single “Back and Forth” with her baggy jeans and from a teenager developed into a woman as seen on her self titled third studio album Aaliyah. Her untimely death occurred just before she was about to make a huge impact on the world. She already filmed several scenes for The Matrix: Reloaded which can be seen after some research on the internet. She starred in two #1 movies Romeo Must Die and Queen Of The Damned and sold 32 million records worldwide with several Grammy nominations. Take the time out to view some of her videos that I know has gotten us through some hard times even if it meant getting down on the dance floor to get rid of some stress.

“Back and Forth”

“4 Page Letter”

“Try Again”

“We Need A Resolution”

    i miss her too…

she has been on my mind all summer…

i have been listening to all her songs this summer from her last album…

i remember when she died back in 2001 i was 9 years old…

    i cried so hard…

i remember i had just started 4th grade that year and all that kids at school kept talking about her and listening to her music…constantly singing “rock the boat” on the bus rides on school field trips

    HER LEGACY LIVES ON !!!

there are little kids today that weren’t even born when she was alive that still talk about her

Her music still gets played like she never left ….

everyone still uses the phrase “It’s been a long time shouldn’t have left you..without a dope beat to step to” when talking about stuff

    it’s like she never left

    SHE LIVES ON !!!

  • I’m going to leave a quote that someone posted at another forum I frequent. It touched me so much, and I couldn’t have said it better.

“WE MISS U BABYGIRL… CAN’T BELIEVE 7 YEARS HAVE PASSED SINCE YOU PASSED…. WE CONTINUE TO REPRESENT YOUR LIFE TO THE FULLEST THROUGH YOUR MUSIC, MOVIES, AND PASSION TO ENTERTAIN…. THERE HAS BEEN MANY WHO HAVE COME THAT HAVE BEEN INFLUENCED BY YOU BUT THERE JUST NOT YOU BUT WE CAN SEE YOU IN THEM AND THEY CONTINUE TO REPRESENT YOU, BABYGIRL, TO THE FULLEST AS WELL. THANK YOUR FOR YOUR SHORT LIFE AND ALL THE ACIEVEMENTS THAT YOU HAD MADE… WE MISS U.. WE LOVE U… “-dvrj

    <3

  • I miss Baby Girl, for real. But I honestly feel that she lives on through her music. I have all three of her CDs and listen to them when I miss her, and I find comfort in that.

  • Oh min…I cant believe its been 7 years, I remember it like it was yesterday! Its just so unfortunate to think about, to think where her career would have been…right at the peak of her career she had to leave us…what a talent she was, young, beautiful, fresh…I still listen to her songs all the time….still sometimes I forget that she aint even here with us. But there will be no one like her…she lives on in our hearts through her music and movies (Romeo Must Die= one of my favorite movies).

    R.I.P Aaliyah a.k.a Babygirl
    Miss You!

  • Yeah, I miss Aaliyah.

  • She was so fierce and talented. She would be on top of the world right now. R.I.P Aaliyah

  • RIP Aaliyah.

I misss her soo much. When I heard that night what happened, I was shocked and speechless for hours and than I cried, quietly. I never really cried for someone like that. Not even for people I actually knew personally. Some way some how I just felt like I knew her. She had this hold over me…I guess that shows you the true power of music.

    I miss her dearly. RIP

  • “this industry was more like a different world when it was just me monica and babygirl”-brandy…
