She first comes with this groundbreaking show that makes everyone stop and stare. Then she gives the plus size sexy ladies a chance to compete in an industry that might not otherwise give them much of a chance, and then Whitney wins Season 11. Now she is just going above and beyond by adding a transgender contestant to the mixing pot. Isis is going to be the first transgender contestant to go on America’s Next Top Model. Tyra, you are truly an innovator and continue to show the world that everyone’s dreams are obtainable. Thoughts?

I love Tyra for adding a Transgender person on ANTM…. Most of the transgenders I have seen walk better than most models, I think this is a fantastic opportunity and idea! Personally I feel this is along time coming, I have seen some beautiful transgender people that could be great supermodels! Koodos Tyra

Janice Dickenson had a Latin transexual on her show who was infact quite attractive and had a walk Naomi Campbell could respect. So what Tyra is doing is nothing new in this regards. Besides, ANTM have been known to have some transexual looking women on the show in the past so he will fit right in atleast until near the end where he will be cast off the show for whatever reason deemed suitable courtesy of Ms. J. Alexander because we all know that he is not going to have a fello transexual upstage him on the show. In fact, this transexual resembles Ciara a tad.

All I have to say is I loves it, I believe things like this will definitely set a trend and will open minds for thoughts just like the comment above me saying “i thought this was a contest for females” but a lot of transgenders i seen can do it just as well or even better than females so why not open a door for transgenders in ANTM!! LOVE IT!!!

wow. LOL! i can’t wait for the season to come on anyway because i’m a serious fan but i must say this is a first and i do agree that it may open the door for a lot more in the modeling industry. not saying everyone will accept it but it will open the door for it. i know i’ve seen a lot of programs about transgenders who flat out said that they did not feel like what they were born into…. that sounded crazy as hell. lol! what i mean is a lot of transgenders always say that before they had the operation they felt like a “woman in a man’s body” or a “man in a woman’s body” so the way i see it is if you change genders then you are whatever you change into, so… that’s a woman in my eyes and i love tyra for it. can’t wait for the season to start

Some of the comments above is exactly why having Isis on Top Model is so important. It’s obvious that many people don’t have a clue about what it means to be transgender. Once a person completes their transition they are no longer the sex they were before. In Isis’ case she is now a female. She may not have been born biologically female but she is now and it is totally disrespectful to refer to her as “him” or “he/she”.
Sexuality and gender identity expands beyond heterosexuality, male, and female. Please put some thought into the things you say or at least do some research before you lash out.
And watch out for her runway walk cause you know she’s gonna serve the kids!

Oh my gosh!! I remember her. She was on this MSBNC/documentary special about young transgenered people of color. She actually appeared on ANTM once before during the Homeless photo shoot. She was one of the extras along with another transgendered person from the MSNBC show. I’m so happy for her because she wanted to be in the fashion industry. She was taking design classes and making her own clothes. This is cool. I might actually have to start watching ANTM again.

This is wonderful! Team Isis for ANTM! I’m from PG County like our dear Isis here, and she looks a lot like a fashion designer from my high school. Last update I had she was studying fashion in NY and transitioning. It would be funny if its actually her!

I think she is very beautiful and was initially ok with it. Now I’m not so sure. Gorgeous or not, the fact remains she is a man. Female models have to resort to all sorts of death defying eating habits to stay thin. What must this man be doing to be as thin as a severely underweight woman? Maybe I’d feel a little better about it if she was more plus sized which would still make her thin for a man.

But because he/she is thin you are not okay with it? Her/His size has nothing to do with the topic. You random as hell hating on thin people on the slick. What are you talking about? Miss B asked for our thoughts and I gave mine. I don’t hate on people’s weight. It is a well know fact that models employ anorexia tactics to maintain the desired weight in the industry. Since men are naturally bigger than women one would think this young lady would have to practically starve to death to be the size of a female model. I’m concerned for her health, not hating on her size. How did you even get that idea from my comment?

Oh yeah, and do you know what plus sized is in the model industry? Size 8 to 10 which is nowhere near fat and is even on the low end of average for a woman. A man that size would still have the requisite sunken cheeks and look very thin, but would be more healthy. And by healthy I mean physical wellness, not the slang meaning of healthy that applies to a voluptuous person.

I agree. It would be really cool if men were in the competition or she had ANTM Men’s Edition. Tyson’s show doesn’t satisfy the need because it is not done as well.
