August 10, 2008 L’Oreal Denys Lightening Skin Tone!
Cosmetics giant L’Oreal is denying it lightened Beyonce’s skin tone in an ad. “We highly value our relationship with Ms. Knowles. It is categorically untrue that L’Oral Paris altered Ms. Knowles’ features or skin tone in the campaign for Feria hair color,” the Paris-based company said in a statement sent to the Associated Press through the singer’s representative. A representative for Beyonce said the singer would have no comment beyond L’Oreal’s statement. Music. Yahoo

No they didn’t lighten her skin! I think people forget that Beyonce is Creole with an already light complexion. That’s how her skin looks without bronzer! My grandmother was Croeole, and was just as light. Combine that with a jet straight honey-colored weave and some soft-toned makeup….you got white woman.

Beyonce is a light girl. Its the hair that makes this picture look odd.

I think their some photoshop on her features to make her look white but as fas as her skin complexion shes always this light when she isnt its bc of bronzer..I think every1 sees something not right in the pic and believe the complexion is it when it isnt

I think that the picture looks like Beyonce. Her skin has always been light. I don’t think she looks like a white woman at all. I don’t like the hair, but it looks like Beyonce to me.

Maybe she’s like Oprah and lightens up with age and with every pound she sheds… just something I’ve noticed

Before the advertisements when she was starting out she even said the kids use to bug her at school because she is very light she even admits that she tans to give her some colour. This should not be an issue she is what she is light skin and B dose have straight fitures.

I believe the not lightening her skin part, but they did alter her features. All pics of celebs get photoshopped so I don’t know why Loreal is fronting like we don’t know. Like someone else said, Bey’s always been high yellow without a fresh sun kissed tan or bronzer–just like Alicia Keys. I just saw some pics of her and Jay at dinner and she looks almost as light as this ad. I say almost because the bright lights focused squarely on her face/hair region makes her appear lighter.

I dunno what it is but something is off. First I thought it was Angelina Jolie but the lips aren’t big enough. But oh well, she’s getting paid for it. And this isn’t the first time she’s had long, straight, blonde hair so what’s the big geal?

Why she got a hair coloring ad, unless they coloring lace fronts.

lol @ everyone saying she dyed a lace front!!! hahahahaha!!!
no, they lightened and altered her face. being photoshopped is normal but they did do some things to her appearance. nobody is attacking be. everyone is just talking about how they altered her face. all this creole talk is pointless. yes, she is creole but geez, if they altered her appearance, then they altered her appearance. no one is doubting her heritage. everyone keeps bringing up the creole thing like that’s just supposed to automatically explain the situation. it doesn’t… beyonce is a beautiful black/creole woman but damnit l’oreal altered her face and skin. LOL! it’s just the truth. yes she may be only SLIGHTLY to maybe a shade or two darker but they did alter her. and they know they did because now they’re nationally denying it. lol! which means somebody in a higher up position must have brought it up as well. it’s all good. EVERYONE in the entertainment industry is photoshopped. that’s the way it goes.

ummmm lets see. i think it might just be the hair color that is making her look so light. I mean really when beyonce in doing photoshoots or tours, her makeup is so different each time, who really knows what her true complexion is anymore.
However the picture as a whole is not her best. She looks like she lost weight in the face. Either that or this shoot was done while she was filming dreamgirls. That good ol lemonade diet.

They did lighten her complexion, which is stupid because Beyonce isn’t exactly dark-skinned. Her natural complexion would have been just fine for the ad.
