You all know that I love myself some Mariah Carey, but I can’t keep this inside, as much faith as I have in her, I really wish she would start to dress a little more age appropriate. She can still be sexy without showing all the goods at once! She looks hot in her ensemble, don’t get me wrong while performing at the ‘2008 Teen Choice Awards’ on Sunday but I just wish she would pick one area to show and cover the others up! i agree! i love her & all but she really needs to do better. i understand that the whole stage was suppose to be like a beach scene with lifeguards(thats why the guys are wearing swimming trunks & she has a whistle on) but come on now we know she has an INSANE body but it comes across as tacky instead of sexy. plus it was at the teen choice awards and that was not inappropriate for the show. love the colors on her, hate the outfit.

Her outfit is embarrassing to be quite honest, she is almost 40 and there is a way to dress sexy without looking like she’s wearing a childs clothes. Cute Shoes though!!

I agree with the saying “If you got it, flaunt it.” But once you get a certain age, you need to cover some of “it” up. Mariah has a great body and is very beautiful, but I feel you B. she does need to start dressing more age appropriate. I still love you tho Mimi!!

Mariah’s body is fabulous, but I agree w/ you B. But I guess she’s trying get her monies worth for that body! I’m sure she paid alot to get all that done!!! Regardless, she looks great!

I miss the old Mariah. Back in the day she was the ish. But yeah, I think she’s trying a little too hard to be young, and she’s pushing 40. She can still be sexy and cute covered up. I think she doesn’t really know herself, because something about her is so fake to me. But I don’t hate her. I’m just a tad bit concerned…

i got to disagree with you B i love the ensemble it says summer the colors scream it out, and i belive in the old addage “if u got it flaunt it” mariah looks good for her age come on know, her body is sickining, her face is flawless, the hair a work of art and the vocals during this performance was on point i give her tens across the board. i mean come on now mariah is doing the damn thing and still showin these young girls how its done ( ie beyonce,ashanti,rihanna,christina) so give credit were credit is due and stop hateing all of yall. its mariah carey she can afford to were this ensamble and work it out which is what she did__signed a true mariah carey fan!!!

I agree B. My girl Janet started dressing age appropriate about 2 years ago (lol) and now it’s time 4 MiMi 2 follow suit. And plus, that was the Teen Choice Awards!! Come on! Lol (If Kim can cover-up, EVERYBODY should be able to)

I too love me some Ol Skool Mariah! I was just listening to her first album, yesterday. You know, “Vision Of Love”, “Love Takes Time”, “Vanishing”, and “I Don’t Wanna To Cry”? I didn’t know if I should be happy or sad as I was looking at the cd cover and listening to her songs. She was so plain and simple and not so extra (Like nowadays) but that made her so beautiful to me. Her voice was flawless and fierce. Now, we get these tired standing in one place performances from someone that dresses like a tacky 16 year old. I mean if she can upgrade what’s his face, how come she can’t upgrade herself?!

B I’m so glad you said something. U have been saying that for the longest. She is almost 40 yrs old and she dresses like she’s still in her 20’s and she’s not. I’m the women had a great body and all but DAMN!!! Just because your husband is young doesn’t mean you have to keep dressing like your guys are young love stuck puppies. That time had long passed.

Look, I get it. Mariah aka Mimi aka Mrs. Cannon is a DIVA with a capital D. But she is not young pop princess anymore. I’m in no way suggesting she needs to wither and fade away. But isn’t it time homegirl started wearing more age-appropriate clothing.
She can still be sexy and glamorous without looking like she’s dying to stay in the running with Rihanna and Beyonce. Mariah’s an amazing artist but she is permanently STUCK in a twelve-year-old girl mentality.
