Whitney Houston is back! I love me some Whitney, but for a comeback song, I wish this would have been better. Granted she sounds better then her previous performances – hopefully “Like I Never Left” is just a teaser and not a first single. I can honestly do without Akon on the track. Her album will drop on November 10th, so be ready! Good looking out Denver! Thoughts?

I actually really like this song. It’s mellow and smooth (think Janet’s “that’s the way love goes”) vibe and I think it would be an appropriate comeback song. If it has a beautiful video to accompany it, it should do well. I would hate to see her comeback with a uptempo song because to be honest all of the Whitney songs I like are the mid tempo to slow songs and while she’s had success with some up tempo songs that’s not her niche, so for me this is perfect. Besides, she should remember that most of her core fans are now in our 30’s and while she would want to get new younger ones, don’t forget us either.

Akon really works my nerve sounding like a wounded dog. If the record company is smart they will take him off of this.
I want a classic Whitney on this album. I want the voice and not a gimmick or at least get a duet with a respectable classic voice that can hang with her.

It’s actually a cool song. It’s not bad and it’s not hot either but it’s decent, but it’s definitely not a comeback song.

I hope everyone understands that Whitney will never sound like she did back in the day. She has matured and so has her voice. I think its about finding the right song. I don’t think she’ll ever go back and be the Whitney she was with her debut album,”Whitney”. However, I think some of the post are correct. She needs to stick to her niche. I think if she could do something close to The Bodyguard, she will do fine.

it’s a good song…but I can do without Akon. Are they label mates? If so, that explains why he’s on the song. But anyway…. like I said, good song…but not as a comeback.

Sorry B. BUT this is THE DIVA, and THE VOICE. Ladies and Gentleman Whitney Houston. I think the song is nice, its simple its sweet, and its got a good vibe. HOWEVER no this is not the first single, this will actually be on Akons album not hers, they do have another song that she does kill and if u think the voice is gone think again, and again because her new album is definately gonna be full of surprises and it will be CLASSIC

the track is cool, i can groove to it. But I’m just more excited about her regaining her life and her music. It might not be classic like her other music, but its a step in the right direction.

I know everone wants the Miss Houston of the 90´s but that voice is gone. I love her but the voice as we knew it then is gone never to return agian. I think we will hear glimers of that time. Just understand the voice can only take so much. Just keep praying!

I found –downloaded the song about 9am/10am this morning and I have continually listened to the track. Every break at work while shopping and even as I am typing this post. I don’t exactly like it but it’s not bad either. My only suggestion is to have Akon completely removed from it. Either way I do hope it works out for her just cuz she’s Whitney.

i agree with what’s been said. it’s a nice song to groove to and i love that’s it’s mellow.
hopefully this IS a comeback! i grew up listening to her and it would be lovely for her to influence the new generation!
