July 1, 2008 Shakira To Sign With Live Nation!
Shakira is in talks with Live Nation for a $70 million dollar deal! Under the new deal, she will have to release another English language studio album by next spring. Shakira also agreed to other terms that include recording, touring, merchandising, along with other rights. The label is also planning on releasing a greatest hits album. Shakira joins Madonna, and Jay-Z who also have Live Nation deals. It also has been rumored that Live Nation wants Janet Jackson to get out of her Def Jam deal and sign with them.

I love Shakira, and if this means more albums from her then great. Not too crazy about her singing in English though. As for Ms. Jackson, this might be a good thing for her. Considering DefJam has stopped promoting Discipline due to some differences on single choice. I think she should keep it jumping if need be.

good for shakira. even though i don’t understand spanish i like a few of her songs . i hope that janet jumps on this live nation thing. her tour is selling pretty well through them so maybe they can help her on her next album.
