Kelly Rowland is trying to raise more awareness of HIV and AIDS. She will be going to Nairobi (capital of Kenya) to get tested for the virus to encourage the young people there to do the same thing. Kelly is a part of MTV’s Staying Alive Foundation, hopefully they will take this project worldwide. Kelly made the following statement in which I wholeheartedly agree:

“Ignorance is not bliss when it comes to HIV infection, and it is important for everyone to know their HIV status. The quicker you know your status, the sooner you can receive treatment if you’re HIV+, and reduce the risk of inadvertently infecting future partners.”
