June 11, 2008 Laila Ali Wants A Natural Birth!
Laila Ali, former boxer and American Gladiator co-host, says that she wants to have a natural birth with no medication. Take me higher lord! I would hate to see who is going to be in that room with her and who will have the guts to hold her hand. When she used to box, she would mollywhop people all around the ring and that was her job. This is totally different, her in pain…with no medication…being a former boxer. She has announced she is having a boy and his name will be Curtis Jr., with Muhammed as the middle name. She says that her father, Muhammed Ali, is “psyched about the baby but I think he’ll be more excited once the baby is actually here.” Would you be a birthing coach for Laila and hold her hand?

Yaaaaa for Laila!!! I’m so happy for her, and I too want to have a natural childbirth. Yea, it will be painful, but the mother and baby are much more safter when it is natural.

Natural isn’t as bad as you’d think it would be. It’s those last few minutes that get hard. I do feel sorry for whoever has hand-holding duty cuz you know that ish is gonna hurt.

It may not be too bad for her. People who are in really good physical shape and exercise a lot have not so tough childbirths. Things are even better for you if you eat a lot of organic foods as well…

I popped my kids out naturally with no epidural; I didn’t want anyone sticking a big ass needle in my spine! Sure it hurts, but once your baby arrives you forget most of the pain.

She is trying to be a hero, labour pain is the worse pain ever. She will be screaming for drugs when she feels the labour coming on. That breathing shit dose not work especialy when you are in labour for a long time espcialy for 37 hours like me. You can not win when it comes to labour.

My sister went natural and I plan on doing it, too. I commend her for it. I’d be more scared of the Epi than I would of the pain because Epi’s can have BAD effects on the baby and you. However, her hubby is a former football player, so he should be able to hold her hand without bitching about her squeezing too hard. Now would I do it? HELL TO DA NAW!
