Love muffins, it looks like Janet Jackson and her record label are not seeing eye to eye and haven’t been ever since “Feedback” was released. Have you ever wondered why the promotion of Janet’s latest album Discipline stopped so abruptly? Well Janet answered the question.
Janet’s new single:
“That’s pretty difficult to say, only because of the record label at this point. We started off with “Feedback” and the label and myself haven’t quite seen eye to eye since the “Feedback” single so they’ve kind of basically stopped all promotion. I’m trying to figure out a way to say this, but just to say it and to be quite honest, they just stopped all promotion whatsoever on the album so I don’t think you’re going to hear another single off this album.”
What to expect from the ‘Rock Witchu’ tour:
“It’s a completely different show, like nothing before in the past. My real goal is to try and do every single I’ve ever had… so I have to figure out how to fit that into two hours and yet give them enough so they don’t feel hungry for more of that song in particular.”
How the title of the tour came about:
“It’s fitting to me, fitting to what the show will be like. It’s a dance show, it’s all upbeat I want it to be a party onstage, a party in the arena. I’ve always said when people come to these shows I want them to forget about all their problems all the drama in their lives and just have a good time, just let it go for a couple hours and bring some happiness into their lives. It’s going to be one big party, I want to ‘Rock Witchu.’”
Janet’s tour schedule:
“I just want to let the fans know because I’ve been reading a lot what the bloggers have been saying about the record and not hearing it on the radio and stuff like that, so I just wanted to let them know where things were as well and where it was all coming from. I’ve heard people talking about me not coming to Europe in support of the record just to let them know that it was definitely in my heart to go to Europe and to support this album but it’s about teamwork, it’s not something I can totally do on my own. Unfortunately things have turned out the way that they have with the differences between the label and myself, which we have been having for the most part from the beginning. So I just want to tell them again thank you very much for all the love and all the support and I they understand the entire situation and I’m really excited to see everybody on tour. I’m really looking forward to that it’s going to be a lot of fun.”

that’s jacked up about the album. it’s a really good one. i’m glad that she is touring though .

ii DONT understand y Janet cant get it together…i mean, im not at all saying this is her fault…

Janet does NOT need to “hang it up”. Her label needs to do their job and promote the damn album!
Maybe she should’ve struck a deal like Jay’Z or Madonna, and gone with a company who will release albums, promote the artist, and also handle merchandising and touring.

Record labels are a biacth, its like once your tied to them they completely take over your career and thats not neccessarily a good thing.
Unless your like Britney, Rihanna and you just follow whatever they tell you to do, the record labels won’t promote your career.
Poor janet, its a shame this album didn’t do anywhere near as good as it should have.

Yea I agree with most of you guys, the promo for this album sucked big time. Like first of all she didnt start promoting until like the day before the album came out…or was it the day it came out?..hmm.. Either way it just wasnt good enough. I love janet, and her album was pretty decent. But the days of thinking your album will sell based on your name alone are over! Now I do believe its in most fault due to the the label but I mean she is F*ckin Janet Jackson…she should be able to make some moves..fire some poeple somethin..and E.C. Yea she most def should look into a Live nation Deal like Jay and Madonna

It’s gotta be the label. Janet’s album was way better than MC and the only promotion she is getting now is about her marriage. I’m still routing for Janet & saving my money for the tour. She’s not done yet. I know it!

This is a shame because that album is HOT. I literally get my life on to this album. It’s horrible that an artist as established as Janet has to deal with an oppressive label (that’s what it sounds like to me).

i think the problem is all the critics completely sh@t on the project. Its a good album and I def can’t wait for the tour. the sunsets on every career. nothing wrong with being able to wake up and do what you love and not worry about how you are going to pay the rent

OKAY first off i want to say that ITS THE RECORD company. remember back in the good ol day..JANET PROMOTION WAS EEVVERRYYYWHERREEEEEEVERRRY WHERE. like when the JANET album came out i was like if i see one more POSTER. this album would have went platx2 if proper promotion was at hand. JANET will never cease. HER TOUR WILL SURPASS EVERYONE, BEYONCE, MADONNA if she had the most tour sales EVER BEFORE she can do it again, the tour will make up for everything. i listen to janet EVERYYYYYDAY that album is on repeat. i hate that they are doing this to her. it is said BUT AGAIN AS SHE SAYS she does not do it for the SALES IT IS FOR THE FANS AND THAT IS A TRUE FUKKIN ARTIST

Its quite sad that you have for real artist who cant get serious promotion but yet we have so much foolishness on the airways. Her cd was quite good dispite people predicting it would flop before it even came out. Maybe its past time for her to take the power away from the record label.

She needs to get away from Jermaine D. And go back to JImmy and Terry and do some duets with other people. Notice that ever since he has helped her with her music it has all went down hill. I think theres something up with that. Its not janet its the music shes doing and the people around her. Its sad, but the cd is really great and it deserves a good tour…
