Jessica Simpson has really taken it to the extreme and moved it up a notch. While preparing for her photo shoot for her country album, Jessica had a wardrobe fit for her Daisy Duke role in Dukes of Hazzard.
“This is her first country album, and she wanted to send home the message that despite her previous pop stuff, she’s just a country girl at heart,” the pal says.
Take me higher lord! So instead of letting the music speak for itself, she sporting plenty of cutoff jean shorts, cowboy hats, and boots. This is a big effort to reinvent herself – I say more power to you for trying to do it. Madonna has done it for over 20 years, maybe Jessica can pull it off. Thoughts?

I don’t know. I think she’s trying too hard. Just because you’re from the country doesn’t mean you have to dress like that. I mean, I’m 100% country and have NEVER worn a cowboy hat or cowboy boots! I think she’s just trying to play into the stereotype to reach those who her manager feels will be listening to this album. Maybe they should take another look.
