Aaliyah’s “Rock The Boat” is so sensual and so beautiful – I had to feature this! The day her third album was released, Aaliyah, I headed to the store to get a copy of the album – I made sure I got the CD with the DVD included. Her talent is truly missed.

She was exactly my age (22 at the time) when her life was cut short. I remember being so shocked too. I woke up one night and still had my TV on and the breaking news headline was on the MTV channel. I think that they were the first ones to even report it. This video was released after her death. She would have been 29 today.

i remember when my mother said to me that she heard on the radio that a singer named Aailiyah died. i thought to myself “my mother doesn’t know what she is talking about”! but the truth is people a part of me knew she heard right because i had never heard that name come out of my mothers mouth before,,,i knew she had to have heard it somewhere.
I wanted so badly for my mother to be wrong…even now i hurt for her brother–i had just seen her on TV with her brother and i thought to myself,,they seem so cool together..it was just nice to see siblings just kickin it and getting along…
i feel for her mom, i feel for her family…
she was a pretty baby girl!!!
