I don’t see anything wrong with Usher stating that he loves his wife and family. He stood up like a real man should and told it like it is.

Sometimes you have to say something. Media and other people run their mouths too much.

And that can get on even the strongest most calmest person’s nerves at some point.

First of all I think that when you become a celeb that you automatically know that you are going to be put under a microscope, that comes with the job. If that’s the job you chose than that’s what you endure. Some of us say somethings we like and some of us say things we don’t. I personally felt all that was no needed. If he wanted to say things in defense of his marriage he could’ve handled it in a different way. His “rant” or him going off and getting in the camera about how wonderful his marriage is only makes him come off as insecure, even if that wasn’t his intent. If you have to go that far to prove how strong your marriage is and how great your wife is, then I feel like that is just a front. This is just my opinion though. I’m not really that big of an Usher fan anymore but it has nothing to do with who he chose to marry.

I do not believe Usher is 100% sure about the decisions he has made. I think he is finding it difficult turning from everyones golden boy and support of his relationship to Chilli, to people not supporting his relationship to Tameka and her not really helping the situation. He has decided that the reason people won’t accept his marriage on the whole is because they cannot accept he has grown up. This is not the point.
On one hand we appreciate his maturity to get married and take on another womans children and be a responsible father to his own. On the other hand, the woman in question that he chose to marry left her husband for him and became pregant very soon after getting together. This reads:I am an opportunst- Ima get mine dammit” so loudly and clearly. We want Usher to be happy but don’t think this woman is best for him. He has probably taken note, regrets a few things and is now searching for approval of this marriage… just my two cents.
Having said that… this video will be saved cos its funny as hell. I liked the reaction of the presenter.lol

AND i have to agree with john on this one (above comment) about b doing the same thing in his “stop the hate in ‘08″ video. B, lol, you was mad as hell! if you could have hopped through that webcam and mollywhopped whoever said something negative about homosexuals you would have. LMAO!!! but that wasn’t a meltdown for you, it was just you being fed up with all the hate mail you get and all the people in general just hating and saying hateful things about gays. usher didn’t have a meltdown he was just setting the record straight because like you, he’s tired of his marriage being hated on and all the rumors flying around about it, him, and tameka. like i said i don’t know if trl was the place to do it or if i would have done it at all, but it’s obviously bothering him and something he feels very strongly about. i think he just felt he needed to defend his family and thats what he did. just like you defend gays.

i agree with most with not seeing this as a meltdown. i do see a sign of security is not lashing out like that, HOWEVER, if you feel constantly attacked then you reach a point where you feel you need to set the record straight. i don’t even think it’s just the rumors in the media. i think he deals with a lot with people around him. that actually know him. i mean, with something like this we all can agree we’d want our mother/parents to approve so his mom NOT approving prob affects him on a daily basis. he doesn’t need/want all the other rumors from other people. i think i would have handled it differently but then again i’m not married with everyone hating on my husband and our marriage so i can’t say for real. we all have to remember that even tho we see/hear shit in the media there’s always two sides and we NEVER KNOW WHAT GOES ON BEHIND CLOSED DOORS.

I don’t understand why people are so upset about Usher marrying Tameka. That was his choice and he is a grown ass man. I would be tired too if everytime I turned around someone was talking about how ugly my spouse was, or how crazy they were, or how stupid I am for marrying them. Sometimes you get tired of taking the “high” road, and sometimes you just really have to let folks know, to shut the hell up and mind their own business. At the end of the day, Usher is a human being with feelings and family memebers who hear this kind of talk everyday, I for one am not mad that he spoke out. A man is supposed to protect his wife and family.

i am one of the people who happen to not like tameka . she’s not a very nice person from what i have seen of her, but i respect usher’s decision. he married her not me so he has to deal with whatever repercussions of the decision he has made. i agree that if his marriage was so solid why does he have to defend it everyday? he shouldn’t have to do that and if i was him i wouldn’t . people are gonna talk regardless. i’m actually getting tired of hearing about it.

1.) It’s nice to know that people who have absolutely no fame/celebrity life can give advice on how one should act.
2.) Who cares if he is happy/unhappy in his marriage. I say again….how does USHER’S marriage affect your everyday life?
3.) Now if he wasn’t saying anything to defend his marriage/wife, people have something to say about that.
4.) How can be so judgemental when they know that they wouldn’t want the media/society all up in their business because they know that they stuff jacked up?
5.) Stop hating. It is so not a good look for anybody. Let the young man live his life and do what he do.
6.) So many people in our society worry about celeb life, but our society is so messed up because those same people don’t take the time to fix the problems in their lives.

His “speech” was relevant to the questions being asked. He did take an extra liberty that a lesser star would have never gotten, and addressed some very recent widespread rumors about the status of his marriage (which again, was on topic). And Usher is right. He is trying to take the higher road and be a better man. This man could practically have his pick of ALMOST any woman (not this one), but he chose to settle down and have a family. Very admirable. More men do need to step up and do the right thing.
