Is Beyonce The New ‘Bond’ Girl?

Well not exactly. Ever since Amy Winehouse decided not to do the lead track for the new James Bond movie, Beyonce became the runner-up to sing the lead track. The track should be super hot - hopefully. If you remember, Tina Turner also sung the theme song to the James Bond movie GoldenEye. Tina loves her some Beyonce, but she feels that Beyonce will never be ‘rock n roll’.

“She was one of the ones that were sitting in front of her little television, her little self looking at the big screen when I was Tina in the Ike and Tina Turner days and she took from all the stars at that time.


“Diana Ross influenced her, I influenced her. What I like about her is that she knows what she is doing, she really did her homework and decided to stay elegant.

For right now, I honestly agree with Tina. Tina Turner is in a different league, but I give Beyonce 10 to 20 years - then she will be on the list of great artists. Thoughts?

   Beyonce Will Def. Be Inducted Into The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame & She Will Receive Her Star.

   This Woman Is SOOO Dynamic. She Emulates Not Only Tina Turner, But So Many Of Previous Legends.

   I don’t think she is rock & roll, because she is not Tina, nor does she care to be. I think they are two completely different syles of music. B has edge and she proved that with Bday. I think Miss Tina is feeling herself a little too much with this statement. She is a good singer, but not great. Don’t get me wrong, I grew up on Tina, but she’s a singer, not a saaaanger. To me B can saaang.

   Of course she will been to be in the biz for some time to reach the heights of Tina, but for her to say that is a bit much. We all know B isn’t rock/roll, she’s pop/rnb. Duh!

   I think that OF COURSE Beyonce will be a legend … because she is one in the making!

   But Tina is right! (and I don’t think that this comment was meant to be taken as a diss no matter how many blogs are making it seem so) Beyonce is elegant … and not rock and roll. But she is hip, and hot, and she is making her own space for herself! we don’t need another Tina … we need a Beyonce! period.

   Beyonce…..damn, what doesn’t this chick do!?! She does everything!!! Thats why I love her, that and because she is fine as hell! But yes, LEGEND appears in her future very bright. In some ways, people already think of her as a LEGEND. For me, she is a beautiful and talented ICON, making her way to LEGEND. She already has 10 years in the game!

   I thinks Bey is already sort of a legend. In about 20 yrs the Beyonce movement is gonna be too much for words! But I do agree that, right now, she is no Tina…

   This is a new era, music has changed quit a bit since Tina’s time, Tina dominated her time and Beyonce is dominating this time. So Tina should take a seat and watch the show like the rest of us. Beyonce can transform herself to whatever she want! Please! u cant stop that!

    I can most definitely see this happening. It was only a matter of time. HOWEVER, I think Chris Cornell is doing the song for the new Bond coming out this Fall. So perhaps for the next?

    I was wondering how come Bey didn’t use “Woman Like Me” as a JB theme its sounds like iut if you hear it…but I see Beyonce doing something much more BIGGER and GRAND like the diva she is!! Get ‘em BEYONCE I know I’m ready

    I’m sure Tina didnt mean that as a diss (lets hope not). 10 to 20 years please, she is already on the list of greats. And why would she want to be Tina?? Yeah she looks up to her, but I’m sure Bey is JUST FINE with being Bey.

    I’m so happy to hear Bey is doing the theme, thats so huge for her. Amy would have been another great choice but she really does need help and her mental/drug issues need to be sort out so that she can actually make it big in this business. Beyonce is an iconic figure in today’s music industry. Theres absolutely no doubt about that. She has won countless awards and has opened up doors and inspired other artists to do the same. She also is a trend setter. Eveyone had the “Irreplacable” beat after Bey used it. I think she is such a beautiful woman and a force of talent (go see her in concert and you’ll be amazed at how she is a great entertainer).

    Read those comments again. I doubt Tina said them knowing the way that Tina speaks in regards to people. Tina rarely gives interviews and when she does it’s a rarity for her to even speak ill of anyone - and this sounds like a snippet of what she may have said and turned it around. From what I’ve heard Tina say about Beyonce is that Beyonce is a …”very beautiful girl.” There haven’t been an official news sources that have covered this story. I think it’s made up.

    Beyonce has not yet reached her potential. As great as she is, I still feel her BEST has yet to arrive, i can’t wait until it does because it will ber HER moment and her individuality will trully shine!

    Ewww!!! I hope not! I like Bey and all, for what she does, but that’s just ridiculous! Never mind a step down, that’s a few flights down. I really wish Amy was still doing it, but could they not have found someone else who is at least unique and able to make a song that isn’t pure pop???
