May 16, 2008 New Music: Jennifer Hudson – Spotlight
New music has finally been released from the American Idol reject who then won an Oscar in Dreamgirls and her name is…Jennifer Hudson! Her new single “Spotlight”, which was written by Ne-yo and produced by Stargate, is something that I didn’t expect from her because of her soulful voice, but I think it is super duper hot! Her debut album slated for release in September. What are your thoughts on the song?

love JHUD, this song is okay but its not a single, its more of an album filler imo
Maybe it will grow on me, also i’d love jhud more if she wrote her own songs! Why cant people write there own stuff?

Sounds like Mariah’s That Chick..the beat at least. Stargate just recycles all their beats!

J-Hud could sing “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” and I’d go running out to buy it. Her voice is a breathe of fresh air. The girl can SANG! After having the market pumped with life size dolls (the Beyonce and Rihannas) that can’t hold a vocal candle to J-Hud, I’m so elated to know that there is actually a target date for her album release. The countdown begins. For all the life size doll lovers, “Spotlight” is actually a jam– something I can see myself listening to 10 years from now!
