Mariah Carey Covers Vibe!

The oh so stunning songstress, Mariah Carey, is the cover girl for Vibe’s June 2008 issue. You notice that in her new music video for “Bye Bye”, the photographers from Vibe were there as well. I bet it’s not a coincidence that the cover shot for the magazine was taken during the filming of the music video. View more pictures after the jump -

I was on the resort island of Jumby Bay; it is an island in the West Indies. Mariah was celebrating her 38th birthday there. She rented out this huge villa that was $12, 500 a night – gorgeous lay-out right on the edge of the Caribbean ocean, and she invited a handful of her closest friends and associates to help bring in her birthday.

The couple of guests that I saw there were Da Brat and Nick Cannon. I’d heard rumors that Nick Cannon was supposed to play her love interest in the video. They did a little candid photo shoot to make it seem like they were kissy–poo-poo. It was almost like they were trying to build the picture that maybe they were canoodling in real life. Like, really, it’s a cute idea, but I didn’t believe it for one second. I didn’t feel it was genuine. I believe that maybe Nick had a crush on her.

[Carey is] very over-the-top, flirtatious with the world. But I didn’t see any chemistry between the two of them at all. I didn’t see energy. I didn’t see any flirtation.
I’m a little bit skeptical about it. But of course, I can’t say anything for certain—I left before anyone went to the bed. I really felt like it was a cute publicity thing—just part of the video. Tabloid coverage is still promotion. Never a bad thing when you drop an album or movie. If I’d witnessed anything juicy while I was there, I would have it at least hinted at in my story.

   Ok, nothing taken away from the incredible body she has achieved, but I can totally see the photoshopping they did on her waistline. If your gonna do it, make so that my amatuer eyes can’t see the the cropping and pixelation.
   But she does have a hot bod that I would take in a hot minute!

   Of course the pictures were retouched, what images aren’t? If you see the video and see her posing for the cover shoot you can clearly see that it wasn’t overdone with the retouching. But she looks amazing in it, especially at her age!

   I was just telling my best friend last night that the VIBE photoshoot was from the video… U go B Scott for recognizing this from the video also… I LOVE LOVE this video… It even made me tear up… The BEAUTY SHOTS of her are AMAZING…

   i’m a graphic designer..she needs a new airbrush artist… seriously.. i know she’s thin.. but coming from a trained eye.. i can tell whats fake…i’ve seen and airbrushed tons of “thin” women who have hella stretch marks.. and other things…

   tired of all these bitches…”pretending to be real”…because it gives young ladies false representation of the body….
