May 1, 2008 Barbara Walters Steamy Affair!

Love muffins, it looks like Barbara Walters did indeed have a steamy exciting relationship with a married U.S. Senator Edward Brooke of Massachusetts. For years, Barbara has asked celebrities very deep and personal questions, and now she is coming forth with a deep secret of her own. She appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show that will air this upcoming Tuesday.

A moderate Republican from Massachusetts who took office in 1967, Brooke was the first African-American to be popularly elected to the Senate. Both he and Walters knew that public knowledge of their affair could have ruined his career as well as hers, Walters says. CNN

At the time, the twice-divorced Walters was a rising star in TV news and co-host of NBC’s “Today” show, but would soon jump to ABC News, where she has enjoyed unrivaled success. Her affair with Brooke, which never before came to light, had ended before he lost his bid for a third term in 1978. CNN

  • Wow, I guess that Detroit Mayor should have taken a few cues from Ms. Walters!

  • She’s human just like the rest of us, nobody’s perfect…what can I say. Both were horny, both hit it. Simple as that.

  • Do it Babs. I feel sorry for the wife but she knows it comes with the deal of being with a politician.

  • Bab’s has lost favor with me after the Star Jones fiasco, but I read the excerpts from her interview with Lady O, and Oprah asked Barbara if she was in love – and all Barbara could say after a pause and stutter was “..I was definitely infatuated and he was fun.” Pish posh – in 2008 she still can’t say she loved him. Infatuation is not something you languish in for years my dear Barbara.

  • How did an untalented hack like her get to where she is today. She was married to Roy Cohn at one point–a key player in McCarthy’s Red Scare–certainly explains alot.

  • “..I was definitely infatuated and he was fun.”

Meaning – It was a big fat booty call from 1967 to 1978.

  • She wasn’t married to Roy Cohn – he said that he proposed to her before she married a Broadway Producer and Barbara said it never happened. Roy Cohn died of AIDS and was rumored to actually have been homosexual.

  • @ ReinventingBlack “Pish posh – in 2008 she still can’t say she loved him. Infatuation is not something you languish in for years my dear Barbara.”

    Good point.

  • BOOTY CALLLLLL!! Ok lemme stop, but you know that’s exactly what it was.
