April 23, 2008 American Idol’s Big Mistake!
Last night was a first in American Idol history! Contestant, Brooke White’s selection was You Must Love Me, sung by Madonna in the movie Evita. However, Brooke made it no further than the first nine words when she fumbled the lyrics and blanked. Brooke asked the band to start over, then sang the song through.
Do you all agree with Paula who said starting over in the middle of a song is the worst thing possible? Or do you think it was a small mistake and Brooke deserves another week on the show? Let me know!

Big mistake. The best thing she could have done would be to keep singing, not starting over. Either way I didn’t like the way she was singing this song so she should be the next one to go home.

She said it was the first time she did it…it was actually the SECOND TIME! **before she was playing the piano…and just restarted herself** Anyway, she’s giving me too much victem in the face…I cant. Get rid of her. That bottom lip will be voted off tonight! Unless she gets sympathy votes

big deal. she started over. #1 paula has no room to speak of someone starting over or messing up lyrics when they are singing live. paula abdul never has or ever will sing live to even make an error with lyrics. she was at the beginning of the song and asked to start over because she didn’t remember the lyrics. if she would have continued for the fear of getting criticized for starting over, she probably would have not have remembered the rest of the lyrics to the song. if she was in the middle of the song and said “oh shit…let’s back it up” then i would understand the error. people act like it’s the end of the world when an error is made on live tv. get over it.

This was the second time she stopped and start which is why I think Paula – even in her pill poppin induced haze – made it her business to tell Brooke she can’t be doing that. Not to mention, she didn’t even sound good! She has been awful and this was definitely her week to go. Syesha has been FABULOUS and remains in the bottom each week because AI, for the most part is based on popularity, and not always who is most talented.
