Why wasn’t Obama in Memphis, TN this Friday for the April 4th 40th anniversary of King’s death? Even McCain was there…yikes!

And, more celebrities from the Black community should have been there. Halle? Oprah? Bill Cosby?? Hello celebs who would not be where you are now, without the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.!! AT least B. was doing the do at Yale…Muah-mauh!

Obama was there to celebrate his birthday – not to celebrate his assassination. So McCain was there the same man that voted against the holiday to honor Mr. King.
Bill Maher (a comedian) just made a joke about Obama being faster than Hillary because he was black – was anyone offended by that?

Well, it was NOT a “celebration” of his death. It was more of a recommitment to the drea, with poverty being the focus. I was there! As far as Bill Maher, you know he says what he thinks and I am not suprised by the remark. I was not offended. Like I stated earlier, I really wish more Black celebs where there. They really should have been…This was more important that any red carpet they could have walked.

The remark was supposed to be tongue and cheek – and the response about Bill Maher didn’t offended me but made me wonder about all the people upset at Jay Leno for his gay joshing of Ryan on his show last week.
