So, in Memphis this week there have been speakers and events going on that have been pretty cool. Angela Davis spoke at the University of Memphis the other day and today Tavis Smiley will brodcast his PBS show from the Mason Temple where King’s “Mountain Top” speech was delivered the night before his death. My question is; is there something innately wrong with “commemorating” someone’s death? That is the language that has been used here….commemoration and celebration. I realize that people don’t mean it that way but I just think it’s very telling. I know it’s too early in the morning to get deep but there it is.

I found these very appropriate for today…
No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.

I guess we have to start calling the great man a prophet because we hit spiritual doom about 10 years ago and it keeps getting worse.
