Congratulations Mariah! What did I say love muffins – didn’t I predict this or what? The splendiferous new single “Touch My Body” is Mariah’s emancipated 18th! The song is the new #1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 Singles chart (issue date: April 12, 2008), allowing Mariah to break the tie with Elvis for most #1s by a solo artist in the rock era! “Touch My Body” debuts at #1 on Billboard’s Hot Digital Songs chart (issue date: April 12, 2008) with a record-breaking total of 285,544 downloads this week. 921 downloads were made before midnight last week, bringing the song’s total downloads tally to 286,465.
This is not only Mariah’s best digital sales week, but the best debut-week of digital sales by any artist. Rihanna’s “Umbrella” held the previous record with sales of 277,000.
I’m so happy right now love muffins because I honestly respect, admire and look up to Mariah Carey. Mimi deserves all the accolades and joy this world can bring – she is the hardest working b@#ch in the game, period. When she was going through the whole “Glitter” situation everyone said her career was over and degraded her but like a phoenix emerging from ash Mimi has returned once again to completely dominate the music industry and beyond! Do you realize she just surpassed Elvis Presley (the Beatles are next) and she’s just getting started! Please don’t compare my Mimi who has influenced an entire generation to any other artist (male or female) because they simply haven’t accomplished what she has nor will they – Mimi is clearly in league of her own with herself being her only competition. No one can ever take Mariah Carey’s incredible amount of success and what she means to so many people like me away from her! Success is the best revenge, indeed! (B. I respect Mariah Carey ,but I can’t believe you would disrespect the hardest working women in the entertainment industry I.E. Oprah, Madonna,Beyonce Knowles, & Barbra Striesand hold those titles. While Mariah takes year long breaks..these women continue to work none stop ,and I respect these women, as much as I do Mariah..Congrats on the 18th ,but Beyonce is working hard to come for that title & she is already 6 singles at #1 with two records. Come on Bee & show them why I respect your craft more than anyone elses!

Nivea, honey Im going to need you to do your research better. Mariah has 18 #’s on the Hot 100 Chart, the MAIN American Singles Chart. Beyonce only has 4 of those as a solo artist(Crazy in Love, Baby Boy, Check On It and Irreplaceable.) You can check this on Wikipedia if you like. As I respect Beyonce as one of the hardest working chicks in the game, a huge portion of her success is due to her background as a member of a group whereas Mariah is a solo artist and one of the best selling females of all time. Beyonce has a way to go to compete with Mariah’s musical achievments as a SOLO ARTIST. And as far as attitude goes, as a Beyonce fan should know not beleive rumors about artists.
