March 31, 2008 Mariah Carey Hangs Up On Radio Live!
Mimi who is currently in Europe doing some pre-promotion for E=MC², gave a telephone interview to BBC Radio 1’s Reggie Yates yesterday. During the short phone-in interview they were off to a great start talking about Will Ferrell until Reggie says, “You’ve sold over 80 million albums worldwide…” Mimi immediately stops him and says, “Is that the right quote?” She says she’s going to go ask someone and the line goes dead! Of course Reggie thinks she hung up on him but I honestly think MC probably accidentally hung-up and then said aw well he doesn’t know that I sold 160 million records not 80 million anyway!
To listen to that that BBC radio interview and to view some more splendiferous pictures of her in Paris yesterday…..

Yeah, it sounds as if the line dropped or she pressed the wrong button. Then again, she is a diva :p and credit must be given where it’s due. I’m hoping she didn’t just hang up since that would be very rude. She seems like a fan-adoring celebrity, though.

whoever the idiot that capped the interview capped it in such a way to make it sound like she hung up on him, if he had let the interviewer go on for a lil longer, u’d hear that the interviewer said that the line was cut from their side, and infact they hung up on MC, but whatever.. haters! lol, even if she did hang up on them i only have 1 word, DIVA, luv ya MC.

People need to be prepared ahead of time when your interviewing people. Especially, Someone on the level as the DIVA OF ALL DIVAS ‘MARIAH CAREY’….
Ms. Carey is a class act, She didn’t hang up on him, people just love to make her out to be this cold-hearted bitch when she’s the total opposite.

Yeah I figured the same thing – either (a) she wasn’t trying to hear that info from a third party, and rather get it from the primary source with some truth to it or (b) she hung up by accident.
Now that I think about it, it could be both (a) and (b) lol

Even if she did hang up on him so what. As a professional he should have been prepared and by not doing so he showed disrespect to her and which one of us would tolerate a blatant slap in our face. So much is expected of her the same should go for all factors of the media who expects the above from her.

Noooo, I would love to think she did hang up (and apparently so would they). But I don’t think so. She was too cool at the beginning. But why didn’t they call back? Couldn’t they if they wanted to?
I disagree that misquoting how many records you sold is disrespect.

for heaven’s sake, it’s simple english. is 160 million over 80 million? yes it is. so i can’t see where Reggie went wrong except that he used a smaller figure and i believe that Ms carey could’ve preferred a bigger one. if she hang up for that, then there’s something wrong with her; esp. now that she should be tryna promote her album. don’t think pple care that much about hearing her speak over here cuz she’s all about herself. all we care about is that she sounds great and we’ll buy her album (even IF its not as great)

lool..im from london and was actually listening at the time this interview happend..i wasent really concentrating on mariah..i was just listening to reggies deep gorgeouse voice..MMMMMM.anywayz There are rumors going around that reggie is in a relationship with kelly from destinys child..and they have been spotted out togther on sevrel occacions and thats why kelly is in LONDON soo much these days,..i cant say i blame her he is super sexy!!!..
