Jam It or Slam It: Michelle Williams - We Break The Dawn

March 31, 2008

michelle_williams.jpg

After releasing two gospel albums, Michelle Williams (of Destiny’s Child) is about to release her first secular album, Unexpected, later this summer. The first single “We Break The Dawn” is an upbeat dance/pop song that is a real departure from her previous work. It has a new-age synth-heavy beat that is different from the base-heavy stuff that’s on the radio right now. What do you guys think of the new song. Jam It or Slam It?

I love the look! It’s a little edgy for her and it works. The song, I don’t know. Her voice sounds good, but the music sounds a little 80-ish. I’ll listen again. I love the DC girls and I want them all to do well…

I like it. It sorta have the same theme as Kelly’s latest song… about staying up all night ? Think it was called Daylight. Might just be a coincidence but the groove is nice and she sounds good.

I LOVE Michelle!!! Her voice is so unique. I’m not so sure about this song though…I was kind of hoping for “Stop This Car” to be first, but supposedly it’s second. So, I’ll just wait ’til then! :)

Michelle is looking like the late Aaliyah in the picture. I am not even going to comment on how excellent this song is. You know that the kids will hate on michelle like crazy! The girl has a excellent voice ,and she is looking better than ever. Beyonce,Michelle, & Kelly still taking over the music scene together!!!

  22. Gabrielle on April 1, 2008 at 8:06 pm #

OMG! I really like this. YAY MICHELLE! But just like Kelly she will get absolutely no promotion except for the fans word of mouth. But I am hoping that her album will be successful.

  23. Sell_ah_one on April 2, 2008 at 8:44 am #

Wow damn near everyone seems to like it. Well not me, I’m gonna have to slam it. Seemed like the song was meant for her. Just my opinion. Love ya B.
