March 5, 2008 Gnarls Barkley Banned From MTV!
Love Muffins, it is sad but true. MTV has indeed banned Gnarls Barkley’s new video for his single “Run”. However, sex and violence did not play a part in the banning of the video.
According to Yahoo! Music News, the reason is because of its strobe effects, which caused the clip to fail the Harding Test — guidelines established to prevent TV images from triggering epileptic seizures.
The video can still be viewed on online outlets like Youtube, but hopefully they will get this problem resolved.

I honestly think that the reason why they are saying this is because a woman previously kept having recurring seizures to one of Sean Paul’s songs (Temperature). Everytime the song came on, she would have a seizure. Her seizures were a rare case – its very rare that people have seizures to songs or music vids. I thought it was because of the wigs that they were wearing lol

I don’t blame MTV. I’m sick of these artists who don’t have any kind of respect for people who suffer from epileptic seizures. My brother has this and can’t watch certain things on tv especially ‘Music Video’s he has a seizure everytime. They need to cut down on all the damn strobe lights.

I had a problem the first time I watched it and I don’t have a seizure problem. It is a bit much with the black and white.

It is a lot of black & white. But I think it is the combination of that & that it moves so quickly. My eyes hurt.

I thought the song and video were bangin’. How are artists supposed to know that the music video they’re in is going to cause seizures?? Anywho I’m sure the director will my a less epileptic version.
