Rihanna Talks About Her Body!

March 3, 2008

rih-ass-feb3.jpg

In a recent interview by UK magazine Fabulousmag Rihanna had a lot to say about her body and what she likes and dislikes about it. Check out what she had to say!

What do you like about your body?
My bum, and I keep working at it as I want it to be perfect. It makes my clothes look good – and guys like it!

And what do you like least?
My legs. I’m insecure about them. Everyone wants to have slim, perfectly-toned legs and I’m the same. I do weights but I don’t want my legs to bulk up so I do a lot of cardio. I’ve lost a lot of weight since I started working out and if I exercise every day for a week, I can drop several pounds. If I diet, I see even faster results.

Does size matter?
Not at all. My size varies – sometimes I’m a (US) 2, sometimes 4 (UK 6 or 8 ) – but what matters is being fit and healthy. Being slim makes me feel better about myself. It boosts my self-esteem, and having a toned body helps with my job because I wear a lot of skimpy costumes. My weight fluctuates, but I don’t weigh myself every day. I’m 5ft 8in and weigh around 9st 7lb (132 lbs).

THOSE ARE NOT VERY HEALTHY STATEMENTS TO MAKE ESPECIALLY SINCE TEENS AND WOMEN ARE DYING TO KEEP UP WITH WHAT FASHION MAGAZINES TODAY DEEM AS BEAUTIFUL. SHE’S SENDING THE WRONG MESSAGE. SHE COULD HAVE JUST SAID I LIKE TO BE SLIM AND TONED AND NOT BEING SLIM HELPS HER FEEL BETTER ABOUT HERSELF WHICH IS AN UNHEALTHY STATEMENT IN ITSELF. I WAS SKINNY ALL MY LIFE UNTIL I HIT 25 THEN I STARTED DRINKING PROTEIN BOOST AND ENSURE TO GAIN A LITTLE WEIGHT AND IT WORKED SOME. MY MOTHER IS SLIM SO BY NATURE I TEND TO BE, BUT I’M NOT AS COLD -NATURED AS USED TO BE SINCE I GOT SOME MEAT ON MY BONES. ANYWAY, I’M CLOSING THIS COMMENT OUT WITH THIS: LOVE YOURSELF FOR WHO YOU ARE INSIDE AND LET THAT REFLECT ON THE OUTSIDE HOWEVER THAT MAKES YOU HAPPY AS WELL AS HEALTHY!

Riri I’m sorry honey but I’m not checking for “slim” legs at all. There’s nothing wrong with working out but the way this story was written has wrong all over it…

I love Rihanna and all, but she’s not a size 2 or 4.

I initially thought it was an unfortunate statement, but now i think its just an honest perspective from somebody without all the pc crap. Remember also, she is from Barbados, where we can talk about somebody being fat without it meaning anything negative, it can actually be a compliment and doesn’t necesarily mean obese and also you can talk about somebody being nice and slim. In Barbados you hardly hear of eating disorders because people are comfortable in themselves and its only rich brats over there that do develop eating disorders and then its to get attention. Not meaning to trivialise eating disorders because I know they are real, I’m just saying that its not endemic in Barbados and the reasons why they develop over there and you Americans have to stop policing what everybody says and realise different countries talk about things in different ways. You will find that most West indians don’t really worry too much about weight or bodysize, therefore don’t have to be so guarded when talking about it.

Oh yeah i love Rihanna too, and i agree there’s no way in hell she’s a UK 6-8 when she’s at her biggest

I don’t think a person should have to be thin to feel happy or content with themselves. Not a positive message to be sending out to people who may look up to her. Like maybe if I was a size 2 that I would be happier with myself like Rihanna. Some times people don’t know how impressionable others may be.

I think Ri-ri is getting a bit full of herself…I guess I would too, not having Beyonce dominating every chart/tabloid recently…sure go ahead and have your lil five mins of fame….It’s real talent and beauty that has long lasting staying power in the music business…SMDH……Will someone help out Kizzy Rowland please…maybe an ounce of Ri-ri’s buttock sweat juice might help Miss Kelly out!

Oh Riyonce please SIT DOWN! Her bum??? She has THEE most flattest azz in show biz! She can’t be serious!? Every time she opens her mouth, it just reaffirms her robotic simple-mindedness.

Please go back to your BUILDERS & have them install a chip that replicates common sense thought processes. Thanks!

If that aint’t conceit I don’t know what is! But hell if I sounded like her (on that video of her in H.S. singing Mariah Carey’s “Hero”)and still made big star status then I’d probably be feeling myself just a lil bit 2!

her legs look better than her ass but I guess it’s all about what you see when you look at yourself–Ijust don’t understand how herm ass is her favorite body part when she has no ass? and how is that her real size when I’m a size 6?? LOL too funny..size 2-4? not with them thighs. maybe she was just taling about the size of that dome cuz them bangs aint hiding nothing
