March 2, 2008 New Artist Spotlight- Edreys

Hey Love Muffins,
Check out this new kid from New York. His sound is very Rakim, Nas, Big Daddy Kane(for you real old school hip hop lovers). I had to listen to him a few times to decide how I really felt about him… but that’s possibly because the radio is so inundated with horrible hip hop that I couldn’t remember for a minute what good music sounded like. It sounds like this:

“I Like It” is apparently his current single – but check out his myspace page – I’m going bananas about “Superman” and “DUI” – Good music folks. Really good music.

Check out up and coming hip hop artist Edreys’(pronounced e-Drees) Myspace page . Also check out his official BLOG and Website for more information about everything else he’s doing right now.

  • I think dude is pretty hot. I like the whole late 80s feel he has going on. Much better than a lot of the mainstream hip hop. Another group of cats called The Cool Kids are real hot too. They’re in the same vain with the nostalgic 80s/early 90s feel.

  • I agree that it does have an old school rap feel to it. It may just grow on me. Thanks, B
