PETA Come And Get “The Queen”

I love me some Aretha aka “the queen” but she’s super duper wrong for wearing all that fur…. I can only imagine how may animals were killed to make that fur coat! PETA released the following statement: “Music lovers may think of you as a ‘queen,’ but to animal lovers, you are a court jester . . . Why not shed the old-fashioned look that adds pounds to your frame and detracts from your beautiful voice? Please consider donating your furs to the homeless as ‘queen of compassion,’ Mariah Carey, did. You’ll get a tax credit for the donation, and we at PETA will all sing your praises.” Thoughts?

I think people should be passionate about whatever cause reaches their heart. But they also have to understand that not everyone else will share their passion. With all the wars, food shortages, homeless people, abused children….I’d rather focus my attention on that.

    LAWD HAMMERCY!

First of all, her weight is unhealthy, especially at her age. Second, apparently she does not have people around her that are honest enough to advise her against that fur coat and not wearing a bra.

This is really sad, from so many angles.

I wear leather shoes and I don’t eat red meat, but that’s as far as I’m willing to go…and so I still have have dead animals on my conscience. A lot more animals suffer and die to feed us than to provide rich women something warm to wear, so in my opinion PETA’s focus is way too limited…but to each their own.

Peta gets on my nerve. Its one thing to fight for what you believe in but they take it to the extreme. We all now Ms.Aretha is wrong for that fur coat but to say that it adds more weight to her frame was disrespectful. Oh and i’m pissed they consider the killing of animals worse than slavery and the holocaust smh. I’d love to see them get at people like Mary J.Blige or Keyshia Cole.

Aretha does not look good in what she has on. I thought she was on a diet?!?!
Any-hoo, if anyone wants to wear fur its their choice and their right.
They paid for it. I’m sick of society and the government telling people what they need to do. But yet we still have our brave men and women in Iraq getting killed, yet we still have the homeless and teen runaways. We have rapists and killers on the street. Who cares about the animals that are going to be killed by us or another animal sooner or later? Lets get crime under control then we can talk about animal rights.

I love animals, and I love fur. AMEN for the new fur collared Balenciaga men’s jacket I picked up a couple of months ago and the others. If you can do it, do it. Sick of everyone trying to control others decisions. While I respect the overall passion of PETA I know if they ever threw paint on one of my pieces there’d be homicide in the streets…lol

Hey B. LOVE you to pieces and what you are doing but for once I really disagree with you on this one. I am absolutely against the unlawful treatment of animals and poaching of endangered species. With that said the wearing of fur is an industry that I think is taking a lot of slack simply because of people like PETA using defamation tactics in their campaigns. Fur is a renewable, government regulated, and carefully monitored industry. Fur is biodegradable, whereas faux fur is a non-biodegradable oil bi-product and an awful thing that is being discarded as waste. The treatment of fur farmed animals has been noted for its great treatment of it’s livestock, on a much higher level than say the beef industry, that most people don’t really seem to care about as much. So the next time anyone has hesitation about wearing fur (be it fur that is from a government regulated source) think about why there is such a taboo. Organizations like PETA have NO interaction or input with the animals and animal organizations that they supposedly care so much about and would rather scare people into their crazed way of thinking. If you want to support animals, support organizations that actually do something with animals like the ASPCA.
