Mariah Sit Down!! Why does this sound like everything I’ve ever heard from her. It’s about progression, people. This would’ve been the hottest song in the country in ‘96, perhaps. I hope the album has more current sounding joints, cause this one is a dud.

This song does not song like her other ones! First of all lyrically this is her most provocative song especially for a lead single. Secondly, she is very subtle and understated and keeps her vocal rage to minimum. Less is more sometimes and the subtely of this song is what makes it work. Also the hip hop beat is feminine to match Mariah’s style. Watch it be #1.

this song does not song???
LOL…it’ll become number one because the music industry is in the toilet right now…not many people venture out to be different or bold with it anymore. and just because a song becomes #1, doesn’t make it good. i don’t care for it. haf of her songs from “buttterfly” came harder than this…

you know it’s going to be a #1 cuz of the push backs, the suspense, it’s mariah and it’s bland. i mean she’s doing nothing spectacular but we know she can sing circles around everyone doing this shit she’s doing on this record. it grew on me a lot and i know the second single is going to be HOT!!

Yes we’ve heard this type of sound before, and yes she could’ve done something different..but I’d rather hear this than anymore damn “Crank That” songs. I’m on “Team MiMi”.

I’m left feeling a little underwhelmed. It’s cool and all but I was hoping for something more from her. Does this have the potential to be a classic? My answer is no. I mean, can you see girls singing this on American Idol or something along with “Hero”, “I’ll Be There”, “Thank God I Found You”, “We Belong Together”, “My All” or “Vision of Love”. Remember, this is just one man’s opinion. We can respectfully disagree.

FYI - the second comment from cjjada2001 was actually left by me, fatblkboy. My roommate and I share a computer and I didn’t change the login information. *LOL*

This song is ok at best. It’s not bad though. I will buy her album.
