Grammy Performances: Rihanna and Fergie

February 10, 2008

Rihanna performed with Morris Day and The Time (if you don’t know who they are, rent Purple Rain and educate yourself). It was nice to seem them to doing the old-school dances together but I wasn’t all that impressed.

Fergie did a stripped down performance of her ballad “Finally”, with the John Legend (the song’s producer) on the keys. I know this girl can sing because I’ve seen performances where she really blows it out. I’m not sure this was one of her best nights.

I loved the Time but Rihanna was horrible, I hated her dress and the version of unbrella and don’t stop the music that was done. Fergie looked horrible and her vocals in the beggining of the song were bad.

I agree with everyone. I wish that “don’t stop the music” was a separate performance. I think if they did “The Walk” with “Umbrella” it would have flowed better/

I guess my joy ends here. After seeing the performances above this, I am not blown away at all.

Did anyone feel like Rhianna and Mooris day was trying to copy off of prince and Beyonce grammy performance when it cam to the end part when they came to end with the stare at end?

I need to know why they only gave Morris Day and the Time 30 seconds and I had to sit through over 2 minutes of Rihanna. Is there no justice in the world????
