She may be locked away safely in the padded confines of a psych ward for the next two weeks, but that does not mean her days are uneventful. Here’s a breakdown of the latest:
Britney Not Mentally Competent
According to TMZ:
“A court-appointed lawyer told the Commissioner he visited Britney yesterday just after 5:00 PM PT in the hospital. He concluded that Brit is not currently competent enough to understand the nature of the current legal proceedings, nor does she appreciate the impact that it has on her life. The lawyer also said Britney lacks capacity to retain a lawyer.”
Meanwhile, lawyer Adam Streisand (yes, he is second cousin to none other than Barbara herself) claims that Britney hired him and tried today to challenge the appointment of Brit’s dad Jamie as conservator of Brit’s estate, which Streisand claims is worth $40 million. According to TMZ, Streisand claims Brit-Brit is in the middle of a $17 million IRS audit with her record label Jive Records and she has 15 different businesses. The (good) news is that the Commissioner doesn’t believe that Britney was mentally capable of hiring a lawyer at that time, so Jamie Spears remains, at present, in charge of every decision involving Brit-Brit.
Sam Lutfi Still Kept Away
We all heard the rumors Osama Lutfi had been served with a retraining order. Well it turns out that although the restraining order was issued, it has not actually been served to Osama because he will not open the door to take it, say TMZ. However, according to Usmagazine.com Los Angeles County Superior Court Public Information Officer, Allan Parachini told the press “she is ordered to have no contact whatsoever, direct or indirect, by phone, email, or text message with Sam Lutfi.”
Doctor To Assess Brit’s Medical Condition
A doctor has stepped in to assess Brit’s mental condition and since Britney’s mental competence will not be determined until February 14th, we will have to wait until then to see who will remain in charge of Brit and who will be able to represent her.
Love muffins… even though this is all very sad, with people picking at poor Brit from every angle, I must say it’s about time a parent stood up and took responsibility for a child in need, and I respect Jamie Spears for doing just that. Let’s keep Britney in our prayers, love muffins.

i have to say B, following on from a previous comment i had left. You are one of the many enabling the intrusion into Britney’s life and i find it laughable when you add your little prayers and whatnot to make it seem like you care. If your heart was truly in the right place there are certain pictures and videos of her recently where you could see the poor child is truly lost, and you would not have put those up.. This is a shame because i generally like your spirit and vibe, but i’m now finding it all to be a bit of a sham in your recent dealings with Brit Brit. As I said before it seems as if you may be a bit lost at the moment.. I look forward to when you regain your conscience, until then double kisses.. from a non E-Balleeeeer

I don’t agree with ladyc above. Keep doing what you are doing B. After all, his blog IS about Hollywood news. And he is nothing like that other blogger we have all come to hate!! He can still report the news and care for Britney. Why do you think that is not possible??!!

Its not so much the reporting of the news its that we all know how the child is hounded by the paparazzi we’ve seen the footage where there’s so many of them. we saw the footage of where she was sitting on the side of the street crying her heart out, with all the cameras in her face so so so alone, but their intruding on her grief.. These photographers wouldn’t be all up in there if the flics and footage wasn’t hot property and used on blogs and in the papers and on the news.. thats what contributes to her problems.. I would feel differently if she was just a media whore like Paris but this girl has real problems, the more people make those worse and feed into fueling her paranoia the longer she’s kept from her little angels. Thats all I’m saying in spirit i usually love B, but on this subject it makes me look at him a little differently.

I love u still Brit!!!! who cares what everyone says its hard having everything taken from u when u had it all… lets think about it u lose your love K-fed (booooooo!!!!) then u lose ur kids and now all your money is leaving… and on top of all that (in the wods of my boo B Scott )monkey doo doo foolishness everyone is in her business . she doesnt have a moments rest… shes stressed damnit!!!!! leave her alone and let her get herself 2 gather .and everyone wonders why she acts out wouldnt u ???

NEWSFLASH!!! Celebrities are real people with real problems. Money unfortunately does not save you from mental disorder or a breakdown. I elieve that with all people you have to have positive people around you and not only that you have to be able to spot those who do not wish you well. Most of us need to do this in our own personal relationships. Tina Turner said once, “If you have anything at all in your life let it go, and once you do you’ll see that many doors and opportunities will open. Once Britney gets these snakes (the drugs and the people) out of her life she’ll be on her road to recovery. Everyone is so obsessed with her making a comeback…she just needs to get back to her reality and not this fake reality that Hollywood provides for all apart of it.

Sounds like Stockholm Syndrome. She would have Anna Nicole Smith-ed if her parents had not intervened. Like a classical greek tragedy. I cannot look away. Want to say that B’s coverage of the Britney Saga is classy compared to other gossip blogs. He seems to genuinely wish poor Britney well and we all should.

ladyc, it’s funny you say that. i kind of chuckled when B said to pray for Brit. i didn’t put as much thought into it as you have, but i kind of said to myself “yeah right.” i’m not praying for this bitch. i’m praying for my family, my friends, and myself. that’s more so where i’m coming from. i’m not going to analyze B and his intentions. i doubt he loses sleep over Brit. I know i don’t.
