I love when artists lip synch and take the time to use a head mic. And then use a mic stand as a prop. Funny. Love the song though.

Oh stop it!!! I do remember seeing Alicia Keys lipsyncing also, and she wasnt even singing a fast song. Anyway, love the song, and thought Paula was gonna throw down seeing as though she’s a dancer, but it was alright. Mabey the video will be better…….

I’m sorry….but I have to bring it back to britney (bless her heart, she’s in my prayers)
HOWEVER, if paula can pull it together and do this…with her psycho, painkiller addicted self, then miss spears really doesn’t have an excuse….
I’m just glad paula didnt let me down…cuz I was rooting for her….GOOD JOB!

Let’s remember that she is in her upper forties. She did a good job. She hasn’t performed in years. It’s good to see her again like back in the day.

Like back in the day? lol I have loved Paula ever since the day she shook her hips in a mustard cowl neck sweater in a movie theatre. She has never been a good live performer. Who does a spread eagle twirl over a dancer’s shoulder in mid lyric. It just doesn’t look right. Anyone remember that “Vibeology” performance at the VMA’s in that hideous mirrored body suit?

Let’s not forget that Ms. Jackson is also close to AARP status and she still sells out shows and performs close to the caliber of women half her age. Paula’s performance looked like something I wold see at my 9 year old sister’s recital *jazz hands* but I applaud her efforts. She’s still got it. Maybe Laurie Ann can give her a crash course in to dance 2000 style-or she can buy Darrin’s dance grooves. either way, we have GOT to get those boom kats in order.

Good things I can say:
1) She was able to employ my fellow dancing brothers and sisters
2) Randy was able to be seen doing music in this century
3) Paula was able to give it a “go” one more time
4) Janet is still the undisputed Queen of the 40+ Dancin Divas
5) I was doing something else while watching so I didn’t waste four minutes of my life
Thank You. Bad things are too numerous to list.

I agree with blu…i was waiting for the dance break since she kind of created janet as far as dancing goes…

Ummm doesn’t Randy collaborate with Mariah as well? Janet almost AARP age. That was funny. I certainly hope no one says that about me when I am 42 (24 now). And 40 is the new 30 because most of the young girls are looking like they’re 60 and 70 (won’t mention names not a hater). But Paula nice awkward performance.

Definantly a good performance after so long, way better than the disaster of britneys performed on the VMAs. Way to go Paula. Still, Miss Jackson is the undisputed queen of Boom KAT!

Paula was not the only person lip synching…Jordin, Alicia…maybe the organizers had it that was 4 reason we don’t no…put to put Paula on blast when there were others is just biased. If you were to mention you wanted more in the dance department I would’ve agreed otherwise it was an ok performance

I think everyone expects performers to lip synch during the super bowl. It’s on how you do it.

Hm, I love her, and it’s good that she’s reminding us where she came from, but it could have been more raw – it’s a good song but with a bad ‘video’ treatment. Nice hair.

The song was good, but I was waiting for her to dance more, but maybe she just needs more time to get use to performing. She hasn’t performed live in twelve years? It was still better than Britney’s performance at the award show last year…

Dear everyone, Paula has undergone extensive surgical procedures on her neck and back. She has been through more than 14 operations to fix her neck. She suffers from complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), an illness that causes unbearable pain and the fact that she is even capable of moving at all is down to sheer willpower. Everybody who is slagging her off should be ashamed of themselves. She did an amazing job and should be applauded for dancing like this despite the incredible pain she is in. GO PAULA!!!

Fair as fair… she did A LOT better than we all thought possible. Honestly after 12 years, that’s STILL a heck a lot better than some of these 20 year olds who still can’t do a simple “boom kack”–no names needed. I think the video and future performances will get better… just IMAGINE — THIS IS THE SUPERBOWL, wouldn’t you nerves be shot??!!?!? Then add to that you’re freakin’ Paula Abdul who has been a media target for abscurity– all of that coupled inside, she did her best! I’m proud she did a “capable” performace and was at least kept to the beat!

She had 12 years to rehearse. Lip singing is unacceptable! Poor form, Paula.

I love to see older performers who can entertain and sing show their stuff. I love the song! And really, lets get rid of these performers who are 20 years old and can’t sing. Sick of them. GO PAULA!

THE SONG IS CUTE THE PERFORMANCE WAS ALA BRITNEY SPEARS VMA 07. NOT ENOUGH MOVEMENT FROM PUALA. NOT GONNA INSULT HER AGE BUT PERHAPS IF SHE CANT DO THE BOOMKATS THEN SHE NEED TO DO ANOTHER GENRE OF MUSIC AND SKIP THIS DANCABLE POP.
