Jessica Simpson is getting back to her roots. The singer has begun recording a country album in Nashville, Billboard reports.
“I am a country girl,” she told the magazine. “I grew up in Texas, and country music was what I listened to. I always wanted to wait until the time was right.”
She also adds
“Writing is a release for me,” she said. “It’s a way for me to tell my story. That’s not to say I wouldn’t record a song that I didn’t write. It’s just that it has been a while since I have opened the book.”
This should be interesting. I guess when your pop albums and movies aren’t selling, record a country album and hope for the best! Thoughts?

After several unsuccessful attempts to get the Fugees back in the studio, Wyclef is giving up! Claiming someone is “pimping” Lauryn Hill.
“You’re up on YouTube, half of your face has red makeup, the other half green, and your hair is barely combed. How you gonna let people see you like that? Someone is pimping Lauryn right now. A true friend would say, ‘You have to check yourself into a psychiatrist.’ I reached out a few times. I spoke the truth to her, but I realized I wasn’t speaking to her but one of her personalities.”

As speculated Eddie Murphy and Tracey Edmonds were married on New Year’s Day on a private island off Bora Bora in French Polynesia in front of 25 friends and family. In a sunset ceremony on the beach Tuesday, Tracey walked barefoot down the aisle to Gladys Knight’s “Makings of You.” The bride wore a custom-designed form-fitting dress by stylist and designer Sugia Nazel and Jill Baracci, designer and owner of Baracci boutique. Among the guests were best man Johnny Gill, maid of honor Nicole Avant, matron of honor Julie Lev, as well as Edmonds’s parents Jacqueline and George McQuarn, her brother Michael, Murphy’s mother Lillian Lynch and his brother Vernon. Congrats to the couple!

According to the UK’s Heat Magazine Britney Spears has spoken up to friends about younger sis Jamie Lynn’s pregnancy and is alleged to have said: “I’ve done some pretty dumb stuff and haven’t been a good role model. I warned this girl, I really did. She seemed to take my advice. I just can’t believe she’s pregnant. She is way too young to be a mom. She should be having fun and stuff, not having a baby.”
Well it’s too late for all that now Britney, but maybe you could make an example by behaving yourself and focusing on what’s important (like your kids!!!!!!!!!) instead of driving around late at night and taking paparazzi back to your hotel!? Poor ol’ Jamie Lynn doesn’t have the best motherly role models around, does she, love muffins? However, there are rumors K-Fed is offering support and advice to Jamie Lynn at this tough time… though I’m not quite sure if he’s the first person I’d turn to for help.

OK! Magazine is reporting that Kim Kardashian and NFL star Reggie Bush are engaged. The two have been dating for a while and although there’s no diamond ring on Kim’s finger yet, friends say it’s getting serious. The two were in Miami for the New Year celebrations where Kim hosted Mansion’s Tanqueray and Ciroc New Year’s Bash in South Beach alongside Reggie, who is no doubt celebrating his college team USC’s 49-17 victory over Illinois in the Rose Bowl yesterday.
One thing’s for sure… when Reggie does get Kim a ring, that thing will be huge!
Update: Kim Kardashian recently commented on the engagement rumors to US Weekly and said, “It’s not true…Not yet!”. So it looks like their just rumors for now.

I reported a couple of days ago that Lindsay Lohan had made-out with three guys in 24 hour during her recent Capri trip. Well it looks like the third guy, actor Dario Faiella, if these pics are anything to go by.
The Daily Mail says Li-lo appeared smitten with Dario as the two kissed on her balcony the morning after.
Is it just me love muffins, or do you also feel slightly awkward looking at these pics?
Blacks Are Less Likely To Receive Narcotics In ER!

OMG, say it ain’t so! A new study appearing in Wednesday’s Journal of the American Medical Association finds that Emergency room doctors are prescribing strong narcotics more often to patients who complain of pain, but minorities are less likely to get them than whites! Even for the severe pain of kidney stones, minorities were prescribed narcotics such as oxycodone and morphine less frequently than whites. The race gap finding may reveal some doctors’ suspicions that minority patients could be drug abusers lying about pain to get narcotics, but ironically according to Linda Simoni-Wastila of the University of Maryland Blacks are the least likely group to abuse prescription drugs. Meanwhile, Hispanics are becoming as likely as whites to abuse prescription opioids and stimulants, according to her research. So sad, thoughts?
