Okay… so I love this new picture of Janet Jackson on the cover of Billboard magazine (on newsstands now) but is it me or does this picture look like it was taken about 10-15 years ago? Anyway, here’s some of the highlights from the article.
Janet on Discipline not being a “comeback” album: “I think a comeback is when you leave and then you … come back,” she tells Billboard with a laugh. “People are always quick to use that word ‘comeback,’ but I never went anywhere, really.”
Janet on the new album: “heavier on dance tracks than seductive jams” and describes the album’s title track as “one of her typical frisky bedroom cuts, featuring lyrics like, ‘I need some discipline tonight/I’ve been very bad’ and ‘Daddy, make me cry.’”
Janet on how Virgin Records handled her last two albums: “Not to badmouth Virgin, ’cause it was my family for a very long time, but they kind of just lost touch. To only have support of the urban development and for [those two albums] to sell what they did, there’s a lot to say for that. [At Island] they all come together, and one department knows what the other department is doing. You need to really move forward. It’s teamwork, and that’s what Virgin lost.”
Note: JJ also tells Billboard that she hopes to tour in support of her soon to be released Discipline album in mid- to late summer.

On her way into the premiere of The Little Mermaid on Broadway, Rosie stated she saw Elisabeth’s new son Taylor Thomas and said:
“He’s very, very cute. I saw him on TV, and I sent him a lovely gift, and [she and Hasselbeck] have been e-mailing each other. And peace prevails.”
Rosie also added
“I sent something for him and something for his big sister, Grace. “Because, as the mother of four, I know that when the newborn arrives, the most important thing is a sibling gift. For Taylor, it was a lot of clothes, because babies spit up a lot. I go to Baby Gap. There is a standard newborn gift pack , as much as you can buy at the Gap without being arrested. And a learning gift, a soft shape sorter. And then for Grace who is older, I got a tea set that she loves.”
I’m glad these two finally made up! Life’s too short!

Tyra Banks covers the pages of the February issue of Essence and is looking very Splendiferous. Just in time for the Valentine’s issue, she’s talking about how her life feels unfulfilled since she’s not a mother and not a wife.
“I’d go to work and women would be crying in my arms on the talk show. But then I’d go home and put my key in my door and … nothing: no friends, no husband, no children. I feel so full when I’m at work but so empty when I come home.”
Lord, Tyra sounds a little depressed (sending good energy her way). Love muffins, why is it Tyra can’t find a man?!

According to UK mag, Heat the real reason Britney constantly checks in to hotels rather than enjoying a quiet night at her Beverly Hills mansion is because she’s afraid she’s being watched, listened to, filmed… you name it, she fears it.
A source told the mag “She is afraid that her every move is being tracked in the privacy of her own home.
“She is afraid to drink, smoke, talk on the phone or have any sort of guests over in fear that she is being recorded or watched by hidden cameras. Her alternative has been to stay at luxury hotels instead, knowing their rooms would not be bugged.”
It seems Britney’s paranoia has reached a whole new level, love muffins. I think I’d be more inclined to believe that hotels have more cameras in them than my own home. I’ve seen a number of hotel CCTV security videos over the years so it’s quite clear hotels have them, so Brit’s rationalization is clearly a little bit off! What do you think, love muffins?
