This should be exciting. I am looking forward to what she’s gonna bring to the stage. This is not a slam against Janet, but when did the Grammy’s start focusing on new releases? Shouldn’t the performances be songs/ artists nominated for Grammy’s this year?

Yes the grammys do focus on artists nominated this year so this just shows people that she is a true ICON and the grammys are giving her a chance to upstage those nominated artist! Light skin dark skin!

uMM…NO! I am a huge fan fo Janet but this is just wrong. First off, didn’t the grammy’s ban Janet a few years ago? and Secondly, how convenient is it that they use her for publicity when several other artists who WERE nominated(and have hollywood aspirations) have backed out of performing on this years telecasts due to the strike. I’m just wondering if all was well in tinsletown, would Janet have even been invited to sit in the audience? Blake is a great dancer but all he can really confirm is that they are rehearsing for a performance. I’d be shocked, if janet performs at the award show.

Well, I hope Janet does perform at this years Grammy’s. She is what the show needs right now. An artist that can pull in ratings and give an awesome performance. NO ONE on this planet can say that JANET is not an incredible entertainer!!!! She may not have a voice like Mariah but she can perform her butt off.
I can’t wait to see her perform again. I think this is the best time for her to get back in the swing of things. I hope Beyonce’ and every other big artist out right now performs as well. It doesn’t take a genius to script the Grammys.
The writer’s strike needs to step off of the music awards shows and flex their muscle for shows like the Oscar’s, Golden Globes, etc…. A grammy is a MUSIC award not an AWARD for ACTING!!!!!

Just talked with Janet’s publicist Patti and she said Janet will NOT be performing at the Grammy’s. She may attend, but will not perform.

Yep, from what I hear.. she may not actually be performing. I think Island Def Jam and CBS are still working things out but I believe it may still be a possibility. They wouldn’t have them rehearse if it wasn’t a possibility, probably just not confirmed yet. The rep Patti just said that nothing has been confirmed
