Heath Ledger has been found dead in a Manhattan apartment, our LBS New York police sources are reporting! A masseuse was let into the apt by his housekeeper where he was found dead apparently from a drug overdose – pills where found near his body. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends, this is truly sad.

This is so random and definately didnt see it coming. People are saying its drug related. He doesnt look like a person that struggles with drugs aka “Whinehouse” but who knows. It only takes one time to overdose not a gradual downward spiral. Who knows what was going on in his life. Sad

NEW YORK — Actor Heath Ledger was found dead Tuesday at his downtown Manhattan residence, according to the NYPD. He was 28.
NYPD spokeswoman Stephanie Jaramillo told FOXNews.com that Ledger was discovered by his housekeeper at his apartment on Broome Street in the Soho section of New York City and was pronounced dead at 3:35 p.m. EST.
Jaramillo declined to comment on the cause of death, saying only that “the investigation is still ongoing.”
But The New York Post reported that Ledger died of a possible drug overdose and his apartment was strewn with pills.
Ledger had an appointment for a massage at his Manhattan apartment, NYPD spokesman Paul Browne told The Associated Press. The housekeeper went to let Ledger know the masseuse had arrived and found him dead, according to Browne.
The Australian-born actor was nominated for an Oscar for “Brokeback Mountain,” where he met his wife, actress Michelle Williams, in 2005. Ledger and Williams had lived in Brooklyn and had a daughter, Matilda, until they split up last year.
Ledger’s roles include the suicidal son of Billy Bob Thornton in “Monster’s Ball” and had starring roles in “A Knight’s Tale” and “The Patriot.” He was to appear as the Joker this year in “The Dark Night,” a sequel to 2005’s “Batman Begins.”

If it is true that they were OTC sleeping pills, it may be more likely that it was a suicide vs. an overdose… I think someone in his position would have the money and the ability to get some REAL drugs if he wanted to abuse them.

It was on Headline news, missperfect. On TMZ, they are saying very different things. They say it’s prescription drugs, vs. OTC, and that he was found face down on the floor, instead of in bed. Both are saying that it is Mary Kate’s apt though.

cHANNEL 5 NEWS STATES THAT IT APPEARS TO BE A ACCIDENTAL DEATH AND THAT THE APARTMENT IS OLSEN’S AND THAT THEY WERE ROMANTICALLY INVOLVED. My question is did they tell Michelle before releaseing the information? NYC Police Department isn’t very respectful. The apartment building is crowarded with press from all over. I am in NYC and I am currently watching the News because this is just unbelieveable.

Law enforcement tells TMZ Ledger’s body was found face down on the bedroom floor. There are no visible signs of any trauma.

Former Death Row recording artist and noted collaborator Nate Dogg is paralyzed on the left side of his body after suffering a mild stroke over the holidays, according to his manager. As MTV News previously reported, Dogg (real name: Nathaniel Hale) is currently in an occupational rehab facility.
The prognosis for a full recovery, however, is good, Nate’s rep, Rod McGrew, told MTV News on Thursday night; the singer did not suffer any brain damage nor has his voice been affected, he said.
“Time will tell everything, obviously. The doctor can only guess what the outcome will be,” McGrew said. “But based on situations with similar people his age, and based on his health, the prognosis is good right now.”
McGrew explained the singer has “neural-muscular issues that have to be jump-started.” Those issues extend to his sense of touch and the ability to walk correctly, McGrew said.
Initially, there were conflicting reports surrounding the status of Nate Dogg’s health. There was word he’d had a heart attack, before it was correctly noted he suffered from a stroke instead. Also, conflicting reports arose regarding his release from the hospital and whether or not the singer was recovering at his home.
The media interest continued earlier this week when TMZ released an audio clip that McGrew confirmed was Nate Dogg’s girlfriend phoning 911 after the singer collapsed.
The reaction to clip — bloggers joked about the caller’s monotonous tone during such a crisis — drew McGrew’s ire. He said he was dismayed over the interest in such a thing and intends to pursue legal action, although he did not specify what his plans are.
“I’m not sure what people are trying to glean from that tape,” he said. “The diagnosis is what it is, and the prognosis is what it is: He had a stroke. The media wants to create something, but I’m not sure what the point is. If you had an emergency and someone was in your presence, they would call 911.
“I’m not in a situation to see who is doing what, but rather tending to [Nate] and making sure he gets back on track,” he added.
McGrew requested his client be given as much privacy as possible so his recovery can continue. He has made progress so far, McGrew said, and noted that the singer welcomes all the support he’s received since word of his stroke surfaced.
“On behalf of Nate, he would like to thank all of the well wishers, both friends and fans,” McGrew said. “He appreciates it deeply, and he plans on fully recuperating and getting back in the studio.”

tellytellz… The only thing retracted is that he died in Mary Kate’s apt. He DID die, though. Unfortunately. I am hearing that he had pneumonia when he passed. My mom died from complications from pneumonia, so this may have played a part in it. ::sighs::
