I wasn’t very impressed by the video. I feel very similar to #2 comments. The song is great and needs sme edgy energy like house dancers or something. It should have been a straight dance track. The song is too fierce for the video.

Love the song; Janet looks hot; I like how the video starts, and some of the elements of it – especially that sort of Xanadu moment when she’s falling with the beams of light coming off her. But yeah – they start out in space and then end up in a lava lamp? Filled with milk? I don’t get it, but that’s okay.

this video is awesome….i think we’ve a society that is accustomed to stayin inside a box….videos all look the same, and people are happy to watch the same videos done over and over….this video is unlike any other video that is out…..the director has a great original eye…and i love what he has done…this video is something different from janet and i always applaud creativity…..she is workin that cat suit, and the red cat suit…WHAT! SHE IS GIVING YOU FIERCENESS IN THIS VIDEO when she grabd her ponytail i damn near died, she is givin the kids what we want, and i love every second of it….so dont be disappointed, be entertained, and open your mind….the song is great…create your own , and love yourself…..

1 – I think it’s quite evident that this video was going for a super high budget look without the high budget. The special effects are cheap as chips.

2 – Whats going on with the concept? So okay,she’s in space on mini asteroids (the studio lighting is really bad here). Then theres the silhouette moon dust part that could have looked awesome if done differently. Then shes in a giant glass of Milk? Wtf.

3 – This video is gonna age really badly. It already looks like a mid 90s European video, let alone giving it a few years.

Janet Jackson has had some of the most amazing music videos ever. From the hot dance routines of everything from ‘Rhythmn Nation’ to ‘If’, to the fun and wackiness of ‘Scream’ to the beautiful, beautiful cinematography of songs as varied as ‘Got ’til it’s Gone’, ‘All Night (Don’t Stop)’ and ‘So Excited, shes almost always delivered (and if she hasn’t, the song often isn’t up to scratch either) but this time she’s got a HOOOOTTTTT song with a cheap, boring and downright odd video. What a letdown…

I agree with lsaam. Janet is fierce, the song is fierce and the video although in need of some directoral tweaking, (the darkness at the beginning was a little too much; love the outerspace concept but it could have been done a little differently) is also fierce. Work, Janet!

I must admit I had to watch it a couple of times for it to grow on me. It is definitely different, and not just your average music video you see on TV these days. Very Creative, Futuristic, and European. I especially loved the end, when she is in the red catsuit…can we say HOT?! This just proves that Janet is on a completely different level…

Uhm, B. Scott, your choreography was more interesting and innovative. She usually comes brand new with the dance moves, but not this time. Yeah, she still is on point with her dancing, but it’s stuff she’s done before and what everyone has copied from her. And they waited way too long into the song to start dancing. I still don’t understand the theme and how it relates to the lyrics. I feel like I’ve seen her in that same costume in a previous project, but Janet still looks good. Her body is banging. She still has it, but it’s like she’s not collabbing with the right folks. But yeah, the end was nice.

I am a Janet Jackson fan for life. I will pick up DISCIPLINE when it hits stores. Now with this video I must say that it was a bit to dark in the beginning for my liking especially after her past videos for “All Night Don’t Stop” and “So Excited” were shot dark…I would have thought for this video it would have been more excitement (i.e. lighting affects).

My idea concept for the video would have been her jet-setting around the world in a leer jet club hopping in perse Tokoyo, NYC, Paris…and places like that.

Janet “Feedback” needs a serious re-do mama! Love the song but the video just ain’t working in my opinion!

I’ll admit, the CONCEPT is a little out there…but Janet herself has never looked better.

I agree with Isaam, Janet is SERVING UP FIERCE! The way she was moving in the video, whippin and grabbing that ponytail!? The choreography was HAWT and classic Janet…and the red catsuit at the end!? Drag queens BOW DOWN!

I think the only thing people have problems with in the video is the weird concept (which I like), but Janet herself is HELLA on point.

I stan out for Janet but this video was weak. The track hits too hard to not have a hot dance video accompany it. I get the idea that Janet is “taking over that galaxy” but it coulda been done a little more like “scream” and a little less like “ALF”.

It’s Mario Galaxy meets Barbarella meets clash of Titans. Each of the Daft Punk androids rules one of the plants. Notice there are 9 people in the video. Counting Pluto, which I still do, how many planets are in our solar system? They are all climbing over their planets stalking each other. It’s a metaphor. Live with it.

Dancing = Battle.

They are fighting and Janet jumps down off of her planet into a place with a very viscous white fluid. Sure you can take the easy road to what it’s supposed to be, or just be more metaphorical and look at it as the soup in which the universe is formed. The breakdown is the final battle. They all fall in behind her, it’s about to go down.

Everyone’s planets start falling and crashing into the soup of life. Janet smashes (dances) until she breaks the last planet with her hand and all of the Daft Punk androids get sucked back into the soup of life. A new Janet is shot out of the soup – free of her constraints, free of her battle gear and begins to organize the spheres of light to her making – lining up the planets the way she wants them. When she gets them just right she thrusts the last one forward, releasing them in to the universe. Thousands of spheres that shoot out of the soup of life back into space.

She sees evil around her, decides to leave her planet behind to go and fight this evil and when she wins, she gets to create the Universe she wants to live in.

i don’t see how the video is “the same old, same old” from Janet. Call On Me was just a damn mess, So Excited was All Nite pt. 2, I Want You?…mess. This video actually has a strong, positive, confident message, it’s just shot/made in a extensively creative and metaphorical way. A lot of people think it’s one of her best concept videos.

Janet goes beyond catchy song lyrics. That’s why she’s an innovator. What did space have to do with “Scream”? What did dancing around in a CGI world have to do with “Doesn’t Really Matter”? What did dancing with a zoo of animals and in the jungle have to do with “Together Again”? Or dancing in an Apartheid era club have to do with “Got Til It’s Gone?”

Just when janet says let me give you kids a conceptual video that a 41 year old woman should give, people scream for her to give a video to rival a 19 year old…full of color and balloons….this video has a point, a message …the symbolism…is sick…its the subtle things u have to watch, its almost like sayin when someone is a light speaker, it makes u pay attention to what they are sayin, when the video is dark, its makes u pay attention and look ….and she has accomplished that….the new janet emerges from the darkness in the end, in color…bright red….she trust me she is gonna give u all what u want, she just had to prove a point real quick

I have to agree with the majority of #23,etc.and the comment “THE DAYUM PONY TAIL KEPT GETTIN IN THE WAY..”Janet, your director disappoints me — the video does convey sexiness with the song. Well, I mean I’m surprised that people are actually surprised that her video came out like this. 95% of the time Janet Jackson’s videos are never what you expect. I do agree that the special effects weren’t so special (I think the bowl of milk and cereal was supposed to look like a milky planet with asteroids but it didn’t work out too well…)anywho, I like it more so then hate it.

This was a good concept and I like that she did something different. Everyone was expecting a sexy dance video, but she’s done that already…many many times. I do feel, however, that the post production wasn’t as good as it could’ve been. Remember, Janet was on a green screen so she didn’t see any of this until after it was done…and I’m sure it was expensive…so who knows, Janet may not even like the final cut.

Different and if you can’t get with it then you can go back to the little box you came out of. Think a little out of the box and expand the mind.

I like the video. She did the boom kats, gave it to you, and came different. Janet is not predictable and the disappointment of everyone comes from her not being predictable.

Also for those who are disappointed in the video, don’t worry, the live performance never disappoints. She won’t have special effects to hide behind. For example, I loved the live All Night performances more than the video.

Got Til Its gone was totally boobooed by most of the black community but I think we can see that Janet is isn’t catering to just them (as she did with 20 YO) she’s going with a more internation flavor.

I think the video will still be dissected and discussed.

i knew already & luv the song before seen this video so i’ll only leave a comment about the movie… i like very much the stylish mood (futurist-parodic view) but too dark & with the slow motion fx it does not stick at all with the festive spirit of the music, so my conclusion is that the video is very good but not adapted to the song… that said, i should add that the ending part is brilliant!! simple idea but magic!

Well I have to admit, I was never really a Janet fan…and thought she reached her peak 15 years ago when she did “That’s the Way love Goes” and “If”. I think the song “Feedback” is ok. It grew on after 2nd or 3rd time. But then I saw the video and I actually like it! I don’t really understand the concept…except it was futuristic. I thought the choreography was tight and sequenced perfectly. The choreography supported the hard beats in the song. And at 40+ Janet can still bust a move. Obviously I enjoyed the second part of video. Does anyone know who choreogrphed this? It looks like Fatima’s work. I liked every step she choreographed for Aaliyah.
