After several unsuccessful attempts to get the Fugees back in the studio, Wyclef is giving up! Claiming someone is “pimping” Lauryn Hill.
“You’re up on YouTube, half of your face has red makeup, the other half green, and your hair is barely combed. How you gonna let people see you like that? Someone is pimping Lauryn right now. A true friend would say, ‘You have to check yourself into a psychiatrist.’ I reached out a few times. I spoke the truth to her, but I realized I wasn’t speaking to her but one of her personalities.”

Wyclef needs to sit down somwhere. Everyone knew who the true talent of the Fugees was and is. We all know lauryn is going through something. Wyclef has to realize he has a little to do with whatis going on. Lauryn has been used and betrayed by the two loves of her life ( wyclef and rohan Marley). For a lot of women it hard to deal. So this quote coming from him is in bad taste.

Hey, first of all … a TRUE friend would do exactly what Wyclef Jean is doing to try and fix Lauryn Hill’s perspective on life and mend back with the true people who keppt her grounded before this “Ms. Hill” thing came. ( When Amy Winehouse’s mother AND father both declared publicly to the world that they want everyone to stop supporting her drug habits by eliminating cd sales, no one thought or saw that as being wrong or a mediocracy for cheap fame and fortune) so what would make you think that Wyclef is doing wrong. He is doing this out of Love. And before we say that this is a Publicity Stunt … please please please learn your musicall history, go on youtube, find out who the hell Wyclef Jean is … He might not be big to alot of people in the United States but, He is a Superstar across the world (Also an Ambassador of Goodwill for Haiti) Learn about his charity, learn about his albums, learn about his MUSIC (productions for big time artists like Sting, Shakira, T.I and so on ) learn about his CHARITY http://www.yele.org … so before people say Wyclef Jean is mediocre, they should do research because he isn’t a celebrity who gloats on his fame, he is a HUMBLE man. So yes, he is indeed STACKED TO THE CEILING. and yes I am a fan but of both artist equally, so please do not bash me just listen to what Im saying. (or read)

Why is Wyclef always mouthing off on Lauryn? It seems like HE is pissed cuz HE is not “pimping” Lauryn. She can do whatever she wants to do. Clearly, she does not want to be bothered with his verbally abusive nappy beard. He should concentrate on controlling his fat mouth.

L Boggie is the MAIN reason for the fugees success. After Lauryn’s hit solo album I just think she gave up and isn’t concerned what others have to say about her. She is just doing what she wants to do and saying to hell with the haters. I don’t blame her!

Yes the fugees helped to catapult lauryn into fame . She always had it , she just happened to be in the tight place at the right time … She is beautiful , i thank god for the music she let us hear. That is all one can do , people change nothing stays the same and everything is everything .

I have mixed feelings. While im not sure Wyclef’s airing her out like that was the most appropriate venue, I for one am glad he spoke out. If you have even half way followed Lauryn’s decent since Miseducation, it’s quite obvious she is fighting some demons and struggling with something. She is NOT well..and sometimes, if people are taking advantage of her, sometimes it necessary to go to extremes so that she can hopefully get a wake-up call. I’ve seen a few obscure interviews and she is definately TOUCHED. Probably a combo of the sudden expectation fame brings/dealing with record labels and also dealing with an F’d up relationship has afforded her a complete mind-fcuk.
I’m praying for her. Wyclef, I aint mad atcha!

I met lauryn whn she came for her concert here when she released her cd 10 yrs ago and she is a very nice lady he said on Russ parr that this is an effect of early stardom so I don’t know what to say about Lauryn Hill but Pray cause Im bumpin the Mis education right now and it is still the cut

I really dont care about the situation but I hope Lauryn gets better soon. Zuley Wyclef isnt money hungry the man has two homes(that I know of) that is worth over 2 million each. Plus he owns over 30 cars, so if he WAS “money hungry” he could sell a car and have more than your salary for years! You say Haitian as if its a bad thing! I am personally offended because I am Haitian and you make it seem as though its a obscenity! Mimi I am so with you! being a young haitian man myself, I was quite offended with those remarks (even there was * no pun intended * smh) but furthermore … it seems as if people are blind to who exactly Wyclef Jean is, and how he musically (production, sound, and, arrangement) provided for her and made Lauryn Hill the musical superstar she is !!! yes I said right, the only instrument Lauryn can play, is the acoustic Guitar.

I THINK E-MONEY HAS MADE A VALID OPINION ABOUT THE SITUATION….I LOVE LAUREN HILL AND I WISH SHE COULD GET BACK IN THE GAME BUT SHE DOING SOME OTHER STUFF AND I WISH WE ALL KNEW WHAT THAT IS OR WAS. I just watched an interview with Lauryn Hill as she was lucid and articulate which makes me question Wyclef’s calling her crazy.

Thank you Zuley for clearing that up and not being childish about it! Also thank you E Money for your response on my comment. People can say what they want about Wyclef but they can not and will not take his brilliance away from him. He is a musical genius. What he has done for Haitians and Haiti in general is admirable. He carries Haiti on his back and he lets us young Haitians know that we are not what the stereotypes say we are. We gonna get respect on way or another!
