December 20, 2007 The Show Must Go On

According to The Hollywood Reporter Jamie Lynn’s Nickelodeon show Zoey 101 will continue to air, along with the fourth and final season, scheduled to show in September 2008. Nickelodeon released a statement today saying: “We respect Jamie Lynn’s decision to take responsibility in this sensitive and personal situation. We know this is a very difficult time for her and her family, and our primary concern right now is for Jamie Lynn’s well being.”
Chief TV critic for The Hollywood Reporter, Barry Garron told Usmagazine.com: “If I’m Jamie Lynn Spears, I would start to think that my future is no longer with Nickelodeon, that I may have a future in acting, but it would be for a different audience, one that is not made up of little kids who hold her up as a role model.”
I know if I had kids or younger siblings I wouldn’t want them watching a show where the star is up-the-duff at 16! Nickelodeon is supposed to feature shows about childhood and teenage years, full of friends, fun and ‘moral decisions.’ Having a kid at 16 probably isn’t something the network wants to promote.
