December 11, 2007 Is This Fur On The Olsen Twins?

Branding them the ‘Trollsons,” PETA have launched a fairly harsh campaign bashing Mary-Kate and Ashley (or as they call them, “Hairy-Kate” and “Trashley”) for repeatedly wearing fur as a fashion statement and featuring fur items in their fashion collection, The Row.
“Thin-twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are about to get some publicity that will have them running away faster than if they’d spotted a calorie,” said PETA in a statement.
While I’m all for anti-fur campaigns, this one seems like a low-blow. What do you think, love muffins?

PETA is definately a great and legit organization for the protection of animals but when they go this far its kind of pathetic and very immature.

PETA is an organization of extremists. I don’t like them. I sympathized with them until they demonstrated on my campus. I can’t respect your views if you don’t have the decency to return the kindess.

PETA gets on my nerves. I understand what they stand for, but they be oding sometimes with the comments. Don’t they understand that not all people will stop wearing fur? They can’t save the world from wearing fur

I think PETA are pathetic. They’re such extremeists, nothing they do campaign wise is productive, they terrorise innocent people who are ‘by association’, theyve actually done alot of things that are detrimental to animals….And anyway, do they really think that MK & Ash give a shit?? Do they think that by doing this it makes them seem like a serious, mature organisation with a good political statement? it makes them look ridiculous…

I agree there were some peta people outside of Nordstrom in Portland…I couldn’t believe the images they had on their posters….there are little kids out with their parents that saw it!
At the same time the statement is true, you are an ugly person if you wear fur!

PETA has lost all credibility in my book.

PETA are a bunch of crazy aholes! They try to bully everyone to see things their way and their way only. There are other ways to get their message across. No one will stop doing things if they don’t want to. Put as many naked Eva’s on their ads, I’ll enjoy looking at her but that still doesn’t make me want to become a member.

If they have to resort to extreme tactics, its because people like you won’t take notice otherwise. They have to stoop down to your level to grab your attention. If they had been quiet in the background, the whole time, millions more animals would still be suffering than those that already are. They’re the ones making changes in the world, not you lot stuck on a lame internet comment page criticising others. Lokk in the mirror. And which is more horrific? A child seeing these real life images or stuffing your child full of cancer inducing, cholesterol laden carcasses of dead animals and draping them in their skins?! After all, why do you think they were allowed to display that billboard announcing “Feeding you kids meat is cruelty to children”?? Because when they were asked to provide facts supporting it, thats exactly what they did and the advertising standards agency had to agree and allow them to print it! So do your research before making uninformed idiotic criticisms.
