Brad Pitt To Build Homes In New Orleans

Forget K-Fed as father of the year. Here’s a man who gets our vote for man of the year! Brad Pitt announced on Monday’s Today Show that he plans to launch “Make It Right,” a new foundation that aims to build 150 environmentally-friendly homes in New Orleans.

The homes will use solar and wind energy to minimize utility costs and will be built next summer in the lower 9th ward of New Orleans. Brad said “right now, this is the focus, and we’re going to see this thing through.” So does that mean no more movies for Brad until the projects over?

I think it is refreshing to see a celeb REALLY putting his money and his time where his mouth is. He doesn’t expect things of others that he can’t or won’t do himself. He is not out there asking the struggling middle class for MORE money. He is approaching the upper classes who can afford it. Asking them to Match HIS DONATION of 5 MILLION dollars. I think he is AMAZING!

Right on! An awesome effort to help the Katrina victims, rather than blindly writing a check and not getting hands dirty to solve the real problem.
