November 30, 2007 Ashanti Is Back!

The Princess of Hip Hop-R&B, Ashanti is back on the scene! Ashanti performed in Concert at the Nokia Theater last night in New York City. Ashanti’s (not yet titled) new album is slated to be released in early 08′. Honestly, Love Muffins do you think Ashanti still has the talent to hang with today’s hot artists like Beyonce’, Ciara, and Keyshia Cole? Thoughts?

Ashanti is done! Her weak voice and sad dancing skills do not compete with the likes of today’s hot females.

Now see, I was never one of those people who thought that Ashanti had no talent. I mean really, let’s just cut the hate: Ashanti may not be able to BLOW with a full-voice high note, but she DOES have vocal talent. And she can definitely outsing Keyshia Cole’s hoodrat ass.
And hell, after going through Cassie and another Ciara album, I kinda miss Ashanti. Vocal standards have gone DOWN the tube these past few years. Nowadays you can’t call Ashanti a bad vocalist, because not even half of the new artists coming out can sing nearly as good as she can. And that’s the truth.
And besides, like her or not there’s NO denying that her first album WAS the ish. Y’all KNOW y’all was bumpin “Foolish” non-stop. Hell, she was bigger than Beyonce when that album came out. And then all that drama with Murder Inc went down and her next albums sucked as a result. If she got with some talented producers again Ashanti could still put out some hot product.
Oh, and “Only U” was that fire, too.

Brandon please! You know good and well Ashanti cannot sing and I like Ashanti’s personality! You honestly believe she can blow Keyshia Cole out?! Be real with yourself…and Im not even a K.C. fan. Im basing things on facts not emotions. Yes Ashanti has hits I can agree with you on that and I agree also on the standards of becoming an R&B artist.

Well I was there at the performance and she def. has vocal skills. One of the new songs off the new album she lets you hear her vocal range clearly.
As far as dancing, when did that have anything to do with a person’s singing. I dont see Jwnnifer Hudson busting out the extreme two step at every show she does, the same with other artist.
Stop the hating.

“still has the talent” implies that she had it in the first place… i’m not expecting every artist out there to be a stellar vocalist given today’s pop standards, but she and a few others (Keisha, Ciara, and even Alicia) can stand to do regular vocal coaching. I won’t even get on some of the older artists that are getting by on the emotional content of their delivery as opposed to vocal content.

Ummmmm… Brandon you need to sit down and be quiet and so does Ashanti. I think she is a better actor than singer. Sure she has ahd some hits we all have sung along with … but seriously…. Her time is up. Please!!! Believe it!
